Rockola Eyes Restoration Query

I agree with Level 42.

If your going to do a restoration, try to honor the cab and it's original designers.

Now, you can always darken the gray or off-white to tone-down the white and at the same time still keep the original feel. If you do decide to go with the black on the sides, you may consider doing something besides black to the front kick panel so that the overall cab pops.

Could you take a picture of the eyes pcb and send it to vintagefreak(at)gmail.com? I've got some rockola pcbs and
I'd love to know what they are.. Thanks!

I have an original Eyes Machine that I am selling, I restored it to a point, I just dont have the CP overlay..I painted mine back to white, it was original and it was pretty white, not off white, the off white came fromthe years of dank these little cabs seemed to be attracted to....I am only 7 hours south of you...yea!

I would go with black. Sure, it's not original, but it looks awesome. Kind of like installing better joysticks in games or adding LEDs to the buttons. The white looks like crap, the black looks SHAAAARP. In my opinion you only need to stick to the original if

A) The original doesn't look like a POS
B) You remember it a certain way
C) It's one of those "one in existence" games

A, B and C all say black vinyl that sucka :)

Keep it original, go white. I've seen a few rock ola cabs and while they looked off-white, it was certainly from age. They should be white, other than the odd ball cab, like Demon.

Demon....ahhhh what a great game. Loved that it was at CAX in the past. I know it came from AZ...was that yours?

No, im one of those jerkstores who tell the organizers they are going to bring games, then has real life pop up and it ends up we can't attend :(

I just wanted to point out a black rockola cabinet came as a dedicated game, and if someone wanted to do a custom color, id pick a color not used by another game. Maybe blue like the marquee and control panel?
