I am going to be restoring a Rockola Eyes this Fall/Winter, but I need to pose a query. I know the dedicated cab was off-white with Blue decals on the sides. Was there ever a black Rockola cab? I have the screened blue Rockola side-art here, and I held it over some black vinyl I have. It looked phenomenal. My query is, as Eyes wasn't that common, would it be cool to do the cab in black? I mean to really restore it, I'd have to go white. Problem is, I HATE the white Rockola Cabs, and the cab I have here is already painted black. I don't have any memory of seeing this game from BITD, so OCD/Nostalgia does not apply to me. I just want it to look good, but be in the right cabinet with the right art, etc. What should I do? What would you do?

Its your shit do wht you want .You have to look at it all day and if someone wants it white then they can paint it when you sell it to them.I think as long as everything else is like it should be (cpo, art .etc.)then paint choice is not that big of deal and can be changed down the road.Just my two cents.

I guess it's more grey. Let's call it "Gay Grey". Just isn't very attractive.

Someone with decent PS skillz should make it black for me. I would, but I've only got MS paint at work.

Color match the orange on the cp and marquee, paint the cab that orange color and add blue t-molding. Better than black vinyl, I say.

That's just crazy talk. I already have the black vinyl in stock. I could do the blue t-molding though, no problem there.

Blue and orange is a cool color combo, but if you already have the vinyl, then go with the black color scheme.

I had a chance to buy an "Eyes" about a decade ago(or more) but I passed. Kinda wish I would've bought it, the price was only $150, and its kind of a cool and rare game. Anyway, I remember it was light colored. But hey, if you hate the look of that go with black my friend. Its your game....

I agree with everyone else Phet. she's your bitch (sorry Jow) so do what you want with her.
I can't help myself here - but dude if you're going to put money, time and effort into a cab then use the authentic color code and restore it like you have done with so many others before it. Otherwise you might as well just paint it black and call it a done deal ya know?

Rock-ola cabs were off-white my friend, and that's how you should restore it. Else it's not a restoration. You are not asked for your taste when restoring ! Do what's right !

Here's some pics to inspire you....

(I'm not sure, but I had never seen a Rock-ola cab before this one in Europe, and haven't seen one since... I'm glad it's in safe hands now and proud that I rescued it from a warehouse :D)
