I have a Rockola 440 I bought some time ago and just started working on it again. I have the manual I bought from Liberty Glass. I'm trying to go through the manual, and figure out what's wrong. I'm sort of hoping someone has worked on Rockola's to give me an idea on diagnosing what's wrong.
When it turn it on, I have the OPER lever switched. Next, I notice that buttons on the selector pad are enegrgized. That is, I can press the buttons and they're stay down. According to the manual:
1. The latched No. 1 selection button closed "Latch" and "Lock-bar" switches #5, #6, #8, #9.
2. Switches #5 and #6 complete a circuit to the Check-Off Motor #7 which starts to rotate and simultaneously places a short circuit around the "album" select lite which should go out now.
When click "A-1", it appears switches #5, #6, #8, #9 are all closed as they should, but does not start the Check-Off Motor and the "Album" lite does NOT go off. The keys also stay depressed.
I can manually click the "A-1" selector lever in the jukebox and it will find what I clicked and put the record on the table from the motor cage. But....it's stuck there. The Tone Arm Switch never starts the return cycle. I have to turn off the machine and click the Interlock Replay Switch manually, to get it to return back the the magazine.
