I was just given about 10ish power box assys for a Rock-Ola ecast provider downloading jukebox
The part # on the unit is 61087-A

He says he has piles of them that need repair, so what's the deal with these things?
I haven't had tme to open any of them up yet, I'm at my day job now and only got them this morning and was wondering if there is some common point of failure on these things?
Poor design? Bad lot of components?
Anyone have a schematic by some extreme chance?

I figured I'd check here, not really sure where else to look for answers, can someone suggest another place for modern jukes where I might get some help?

Thanks!
Dan

Thanks Ken, I have emailed them at the service@ address, the phone number on the site is owned by a private party now, I wasn't sure if I should try their new owners or not :)

Since Rock-ola got purchased by Rowe a couple of months ago, all offices are being/already moved to Rowe's business offices in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Chances are all the old Rock-ola phone numbers from Torrance, California will all be no good now.

You probably got a hold of one of the Rock-ola techs who's been moved to Grand Rapids. I bet your schematic comes from Grand Rapids. All the new Rock-ola downloader jukes have Rowe-Ami guts/hardware now.

From what I can tell the power supply is the same part# between the old and new "wall Rock" units so I should be OK.
I'm curious to find out what component is failing in all of these things, crazy!

While I think of it,
To help anyone that runs into this thread searching for similar answers with this PS, the problem with almost all of the units is heat damage to the traces/pads at CR1. Rock-Ola had an addendum adding a 3W 1Ohm resistor in series with it but even in the half of the boxes I repaired having this "fix", the damage continued just not to the scorching point. A few jumpers and a little reflowing and all 12 of the boxes are good save one that had the 24v LED broken off (still trying to source that one).
