So I got my Robotron up and running thanks to Kevin sending me a hard to find monitor part...and now I have no sound. I actually haven't had sound for a couple years in this game

I search a bunch of posts here and there are a bunch on the topic but I'm still noiseless

Here's what I've done...

Changed the complete sound board with a working one. Now this was known working say 2-3 year ago and I don't have anyway to actually test it.

I also try another complete robotron sound board (board #3) that is labeled working.

I do NOT getting any Williams 'Hum' from the speaker.

I do not get anything when I press the 'test sound switch' on the card

I tried a different working speaker..nothing.

I check continuity in all wires involved including up to the speaker.

Obviously I turned the volume control up and down. I'm starting to look here but if this was bad I would think I would still get some 'humm'

The voltage at the sound board is fine

Any other ideas?

Kind of a funny story...My txt message notification on my cell is Robotron re-spawning. The last time I messed with this I tried something and pressed the testing switch..got nothing...a couple second later I got a txt message. For about 10 seconds I thought I fixed it =)

Your signature indicates you have a Defender. If the sound is working on the Defender, swap the Robotron sound boards in until you find one that works, then swap it back into the Robotron. Or just use the working Defender sound card in the Robotron to make sure that you are getting sound through to the speaker.

Are you sure that all the connectors are hooked up correctly. If you swap the sound pot and the speaker connectors you won't get sound, even on working sound cards.

Yeah.. My Defender is at a friends

In fact the 3rd sound board I tried is from the backup board set for defender which was testing and working when I put it into storage

I guess I could head over there and grab it.

I did check the schematics and everything appears to be wired correctly.

The sound did work at one point...then it just stopped. I haven't mess with the wiring so I would assume it is wired properly
