Robotron 1P and 2P buttons.. what should I do?

Ever since I brought my Robo home in 2008, sold it in 2009, and got it back again in 2011, it's needed new 1P and 2P buttons. The whole CP has cigarette burns on it, and what ever dirtbag opted to do it also put a butt on the 1P button, melting it.

The existing buttons are a translucent blue color. Should I get OEM replacements, and if so, where? Or, should I do a lit button and go a little custom? I can provide a pic if anyone wants to see the damage.

I really thought Wick would have replaced these while he had my game. Some people are just so damn lazy. JK WICK!!!

Those blue are getting hard to come by. I am pretty sure Bob Roberts is out of them, but it wouldn't hurt to check. Otherwise:

Those are the light blue that are sold out. I believe the corrects buttons are the "dark blue" ones. Of course I have seen them with both.....

I believe the ones on mine are light blue already. Perhaps someone already did a swap over the years and that's why me have no lights? Must investigate this.

OK here's the deal... Got home, checked the machine and............ the light assemblies are there, and there are working bulbs underneath. The 1P button is translucent blue, has a hole in the center about 1/8" in diameter, and the light under it is barely permeating it at all.

The 2P button is a pasty blue non-translucent button that someone swapped into the game. The light assy under it is working fine.

So what should I do? Order the dark blue's? Anyone got the light blue's on theirs? Thank God the light assemblies weren't hacked up at least.

I just had to share this.. I placed my order with Centsible Amusements on Tuesday night after this thread went up, and this AM I find this email in my inbox:

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but these have sold out overnight. I don't know what happened, but I suddenly got bombarded with orders for these and all Dark blue are gone now.


This really pissed me off. I really hope the buyers were people like me from here who truly needed the buttons like I do, and not some dirtbag hoarder. What really aggravated me the most is that I was the one who initially asked about the parts, and now here I am the one without any! Unreal.

Obviously I have no way to prove what went down was done by the hand of a KLOVer, and I also have no clue how many the place even had left in stock before they were bought out "overnight", but it just really left me sitting there with my mouth hanging open. I've seen this community do some incredibly generous things for our fellow members, so to see something like this happen, as I'm currently seeing it, just really knocked me for a loop.

I ordered some from pinballlife thanks to the link that mod provided so, hopefully the same dirt merchants who cleaned out centsible left a couple buttons in the corner of the pinballlife warehouse for me. Again, damm people. Just total lack of consideration. I needed 2. Not a skid of 200. The email from centsible did say order(S) (plural) so, hopefully their stock was just depleted from people like me who had cruddy or missing buttons and also needed replacements.

Ya know, my light fixture underneath my buttons isn't that bright either.. and these a still the stock buttons..
