So I inherited a converted Robotron cabinet, another I couldn't bare to see crushed.
I'm finishing up work on cabinet and plan to stencil it. I've been up in the air if I should go all original Robotron , or JROK . I was going over parts that were in it and realized the power brick is not original . Not sure what it's out of but the shadow of original brick is still visible in bottom of cabinet , and the one I got it with is definitely not original . But what is it out of ? Serial # sticker says 457273 . Unless I find a basically trashed cabinet it probably doesnt make sense to go original . The CP has a bunch of extra holes too.
Anyone know what this power brick came out of ?
It would be cool to go all original , but is it really worth it ?

Looks like defender to me (the brick)

Yep, Defender it is

@jrok is a quality individual and his inventions are great, but your comment is offensive to me. /s

also I think they were asking about the power supply lol
Yes, that was also a question. I or anyone else should not be required to return a cabinet destined to the trash heap to factory original. A mult-williams is a perfect end for that cabinet.

It's either real or it isn't.

Aside from a dedicated MAME machine, I'll never understand emulation/imitation/<enter any other "fake" euphemism here> in any other machine.

Don't let others tell you how to spend your money in this hobby.

As long as you are not doing irreversible damage, then do whatever makes you happy.

JROK or original...I respect both and run both.

JROK is "imitation" not "emulation".
That said, I'd suggest if it is Robo only, then dedicated hardware is justified.
If it is a WMS multigame / jamma, then the JROK makes more sense.
If it has original hardware and you want to multi it, then find a Clay kit.

I did both in my joust. I have original parts and boards and harness, but im using a jrok with an adapter to the original harness, and i made a new control panel for the multi. So i can be back to original in no time.
