I am in the process of rebuilding the heads in my Roadshow and was wondering if it matters the orientation of the coil in regards to how the wires are soldered on.

There are no diodes on the coils.

I am trying to make it the same - but in looking at pictures I didnt take enough to show.

So does it matter which side the wires are connected to on the coils? Any markings to indicate a positive or negative for example? Thanks

Coils typically have a diode on them and you must hook the wires up correctly. In WPC games, they moved the diodes off the coil and on to the driver board so you can hook up wires either way on the coil, as the diode is already correctly on the board.

Pay attention to obvious stuff like tight wires and shorting to adjacent parts, its tight in those heads.

Great thank you! I think I have the wires in the same position but an not able to verify. As long as the wires are on opposite ends sounds like Im good.

I did have 1 broken wire I noticed after taking it all apart. I will make sure to check for shorts thank you.... would you recommend electrical tape over the soldered wires on the coils?

Thanks again Gutz for the info - I actually went back and clipped all the ends and started with fresh wire and am really glad I did very fragile. Installed and all is working great. closing this one out
