Ok I have isolated my Roadbalsters problem to the main Pcb. The board gets tested +5, and the red light at CR5 is lit.

The Problem is the red led at CR6 its not suppost to come on, it flashes on and off, and makes a buzzing noise. Is CR6 like a spot killer???

I tested the video board in another machine its fine.

anyone work with system 1:eek:

Beuller? I have a Roadblasters with the same problem. The readings on the main board at p101 from the pwr supply all look good, and I just tested this pwr bd on another sys 1 cab, marble madness, and it works fine with that cab. I'm having a tough time finding out what a blinking cr6 means. This must be documented somewhere!

Never got a answer?? bought another board?

Resurrecting an ancient thread here, but pretty much the same question.

I'm just starting to look at the RoadBlasters cockpit I grabbed two days ago.

For the moment the monitor is dead, but I've tested and sorted out several voltage issues.

Now that it appears to be working, I can't find any mention of the CR5 and CR1 LEDs in the manual, or anywhere else.

I have two board sets, on one, the CR5 light stays lit, and the other it blinks at about a 2 second interval.

I'm just curious why Atari does not reference these troubleshooting aids in the manual.

Is there a more tech heavy general manual for all Atari troubleshooting?

The cockpit PCB is a different beast all together, do you get anything when you power up the board with the test switch on?

After re-seating chips and getting at almost everything with Deoxit, I got this:

Since this cockpit came with two boardsets, I swapped the pairs around and got this:

This was one of those rare moments for me.

So I pull the one ROM reporting an error, and read the chip, which seems fine. I go and download the ROMS and run a verify, and it comes up a mismatch. I walk out in the garage and just happen to have 4 blank 27256-20 chips, I burn the one, plug it in, and...

The game boots up perfectly, sounds work, speech chip works, coins up. Freaking great!

I gave the other set of boards the same treatment, replacing two ROMS, and now it boots fine, but fails on the sound test, and won't coin up. So I think it's close to working. Any ideas? Could this be caused by the Pokey?

I've never had to replace a Pokey, so not sure if it's common, and what the symptoms are.
