Hey I'm having storage issues and wondering if anyone has any experience in standing a Roadblasters cockpit up vertically?

While this could end up the wrong kind of games amusement, I'd rather it didn't!

Lol, I thought you were suggesting gutting a Cockpit Roadblasters into an Upright, first... and was all "NOOOOOO!!!"

That said, I've no idea if it could structurally support itself in an upright position. I imagine you'd try to stand it on the monitor end? Probably will end up crunching something.

I've stored mine during a move with the monitor half on the floor, but mines also that custom 2-piece convertible edition that's had it's fame on here in the past. I did mess up my handiwork a little bit doing that but otherwise it was fine. I imagine storing an unmolested cabinet that way would also be fine, but you'd want at least one more strong person to help it settle gently.

Thanks, it's in kinda rough condition, a bit of water damage and scratched up art, so needs a resto anyway.

I'll give it a go, with help.

And maybe an extra person to hold the camcorder

Main thing of worry would be the bottom corners. The cabinet is particle board and the only thing protecting those corners is a thin red plastic sheeting. If you're not careful you'll bust the corners while tipping it up. I'd recommend getting some kind of thick rug (like a bath mat) and place it where the corners will touch the floor while you slowly and carefully tip it up. Also can't stress enough, set it down as gently as possible, and make sure your monitor is bolted in tight.

Just thought of another idea... get a 2x4 and cut it to a length slightly less (like a few inches less) than the width of the cabinet up front. Put it on the floor and while tipping the cabinet, place the bottom edge on the 2x4 making sure it goes in between the red sides. That way there would be no risk to the bottom corners. Would probably also help to keep it stored that way since the back is angled anyway and would make it safer to tip it back in the future.

Wish I had thought of that before I stored mine this way.
