May be road tripping to Missouri to grab a machine. Fingers crossed. It's a "need" machine not just a want, trying to follow y'alls advice and pop my cherry with a keeper *wink wink.

Any one with an awesome arcade between here and there I could check out?

Anyone need anything between Louisiana and Missouri?

Where in Missouri are you headed? If you are going through Springfield you need to stop by Arcade 1984 in downtown Springfield. They are only open 4-11pm, just FYI.

You wanna make an impression? road trip to Charlotte, North Carolina and talk to a man about a chair, and buy it.

If you are going to the ozarks you may want to try to check out "the strip" I've never been to the area in the winter as its sort of a seasonal vacation spot, but when I was there a couple of years ago they still had a few arcades there. As I recall one had a EODT, road runner, ninja gaiden, etc.. They were pretty beat up and werent all working, but it was still cool to see them being used on location somewhere...I'll actually be in St.Louis for christmas...

I think everybody generally advised that you wait until a nice machine that you really like, not to just get one because you want to dive into the hobby.

Either way, good luck and post pictures.

Ozark huh? Definitely need to make it to 1984 then, Ozarks is a suburb of Springfield. You aren't after that Punch-Out are you?

Damn, he's on to me. Based on the rules given to me, I need to focus on machines that are must haves. Marble Madness and Punch-Out are my two must haves.

Do you see a problem with this punch-out? Am I crazy to trek that far for it?

I'm also researching shipping. Any tips on shipping?

Move into my office January 1. Hoping to have a machine on opening day.

Is it just me or is Missouri filled with a ton of Arcade Machines?

I think it is you ;) that punch out looks like a pretty good machine. It has actually been for sale here for a while. I don't know if I would drive that far for one, but if it is a must have it is up to you. Could be a fun trip :)

That is a reasonable RETAIL price for a machine such as that.

However you could probably get the same machine from a collector in the same condition for maybe half that, possibly less if he needed to sell. Depending on the retailer and the collector you could possibly be getting a better machine as well.

The pros have a whole lot of overhead that generally makes them have to sell their machines at quite a premium to what game collectors generally pay for machines.

What do you Missouri guys know about these folks?

They are the only Marble Madness I've been able to find. Acquiring my two "gotta-haves" on this journey would be rad!

Price seemed a bit steep, especially with shipping.

95% chance the machine you buy from a collector will be significantly better than the one you buy retail. And yeah, for half the price.
