Drove my son out west to look at a school. On the way home stopped off at three operators. You can see (not very good) pics here:

http://missilecommand.org/op_raids_October_2021/3_op_raids.html

I was able to pick up a few things from the first two, but nothing from the third. On #3, I did find some good stuff, but when it got to the point to discuss prices, he said "let me go check the internet", I knew there would be no deal.

Nice to see a Computer Space though, even if it wasn't for sale. Couple EM games I never saw or heard of either at Op 3.

Enjoy!

Pretty cool, Joe.

I have a feeling that last operator will be sitting on those items until he dies and then his children will quickly sell or auction them.

"Let me check what what ebay postings have been sitting unsold for 9 months."

Great pics Joe and I especially loved the test rigs and gear!!!

Oh man, that suuuuuucks about #3. Nice stuff in there...that Gun Fight! And Soccer! And holy teeming test equipment, Batman! Here's hoping he keeps your number and gets reasonable down the road. Congrats on the pick ups and thanks for sharing these! Always appreciated.

Remind them of the hassles and fees of selling on ebay. Not to mention how long the item might take to sell and buyer's potentially making claims.

Tell them that you're right there at that moment willing to buy X amount of parts hassle-free.

Yep. I always just say "I can't compete with ebay man". I also tell them that just because that particular item is listed for "x" amount of dollars, that doesn't mean that item will sell for that much and if it does, you will have to pay the the ridiculous fees after the sell.

I agree, but what would you advise for that situation?
Depends on the scenario. There's a million things you could say, but a quick-witted critically thought out response will fetch you success. I paid 50 bucks for a showroom quality Missile Command, and Twinky Pinball, 50 bucks for a Pulsar converted to a Capcom Bowling (which I converted back), and 200 for a Berzerk, nonworking. All in 2021.

Ebay has sold listings available. Above that, eBay takes 10% of everything you sell, and sometimes even more. So if someone brings up the eBay card, your rebuttal should be "Let's not look at our AVAILABLE UNSOLD listings, but instead our SOLD listings." Throws most for a loop to begin with. You can also keep records of things you're interested in sold for such an occasion to be used in a counter argument. Places such as KLOV, FB, Craigslist, Offerup, Auction sites, where you can find information regarding items that may have sold on the cheap.

How do you know if a cabinet was a Pulsar?

Usually there's stuff stamped on the cabinet that explains what's what. Pulsar only came in the plywood Japanese cabinet, and only used the Nanao MC-2000R. I need to get a pic of the inside.
