Resetting virtually very time the left flipper is pressed during play. 5v on the power board is good. I'm going to check the flipper board for bad solder etc and swap power boards with my fishtales to see if I can isolate. Any other thoughts?

Also, i can't seem to get the volume/test buttons to do anything. Interlock switch seems to work as the warning comes up on the dmd whenever I open the door.

Thanks for any help!

check the diodes on the flipper coil ?
and first swap the flipper driver board, that's easier to swap and sometimes also the problem.. especially if it's not when you press both flippers but already resets with 1 flipper.

You could swap left and right flipper coils and see if problem moves, to help know where to go next.

Diagnostic buttons - check CPU for battery damage, it takes out diagnostic switches first.

LTG :)

I put in a known working flipper board. Same issue. Need to check the diode

Batteries look good, no corrosion...Was working before I moved it, now its not. Maybe something silly like a loose connector...

this is strange.

I pulled and reset the connections 1 by 1 on the power board.

The J114 connector seemed to make the difference. I believe J114 is 5/12 (power). When I monkey with that connector, the game does not reset...Think I was losing power when the flippers tried to draw it?

Still cant figure out the stupid test switches!!

check ground

my stng was like that when I got it, it had a bad ground on the coin door. as soon as i fixed it all the test switches started working

Funny. I had a few minutes to dig into this one. Started with he coin door and guess what? Yep. The ground on one of the microswitches was loose. Hit it with the soldering iron and voila, test switches work. Thanks!

Next up...shaker motor...
