Im not sure how many issues I have here. I think i have a monitor and board issue.

When i tested the game at the place before i brought it home there was no issue. Now the screen is rolling and streching, and Im missing the car graphic.

Id like to the the monitor fixed so I can go into test mode and such and figure the board issue out then

Heres a shitty video from my phone.

Thanks!

Ok so an update, I took the board out and cleaned it and reset the roms and such, all my graphics are back. What adjust do i need to do on this monitor? sometimes the picture is ok, but most the time it is streching and rolling for lack of a better way to described it. Ill go get a better video of the issue.

another video

Check the sync wires and video ground wires from the board to the monitor... after that, adjust the horizontal frequency adjustment ever so slightly on the monitor.

so I checked the wires, made sure they were good. Repluged in the connector and such. Turned it on and was able to play 1 full race before it started to go crazy again. Turned it off and on, same issue. Turned it off and waited a little while, was able to play 1 race again.

Confused.

Did you adjust the horiz freq control on the monitor yet?

What model monitor?

Did I say you could move my thread? lol :p

Ill take a much better pic in the morning, This is the best i could do with a flashlight. Its the strangest monitor ive owned. Shit is all over the place, it seems every adjustment is a different kind of knob too.

The brightness and contrast H-coil and h-pos. are on the Left (along with 2 other pots not marked :\. Vhold and V position are in the middle (white knobs) and the Focus is all the way over on the Right. No screen adjustment like all my other monitors have, how strange!

There is also a switch in the middle. Im not sure if this a standard and a med res or what.

Its a 19inch monitor.

throw that POS!!!! out and get a real monitor.
matsu... are nothing but trouble.

i have no idea how to adjust one of those things and i had one off the frame to look at.

i sold it for parts and the USPS lost it with tracking no less:confused:

that should tell you how bad those monitors are.

but in all seriousness you should look for another/better monitor.
you cant even get a universal chassis for it. they have a weird pin out for a tube.

good luck on the problem i feel for you.

Peace

Well thats not what I want to hear lol.

Im really hoping someone will know how to get this tuned in though. It was a cheap game, and im ok with a so-so picture, but it cant be rolling lol.

yeah, the MatsuSHITa monitor isn't real fun to work on. Find Leinhit's epic thread about repairing one ("My focus pot is glowing" or something like that).

The TM-202G manual shows the layout for the controls...

My only experience with one was very easy... recap, resolder cracked joints, and rejuv the tube... It was rock solid. I guess I was lucky from the way you guys make it sound. ;)
