Road Blasters Topper - A Decade in the Making

Just using this as a place to go on record again saying how much i love Roadblasters. It was a game that was in Jerrys Pizza In Canton Texas for the entirety of my junior high and high school days and i played it weekly. Pole Position meets Spy Hunter but i like it better than Spy Hunter for sure.

It was the third or fourth game i ever bought, and lived in my office for the first few months i had it while waiting to buy my house. I got it for a descent deal but had to get it down a L shaped flight of stairs which was a major chore that early in my collecting days as i did not have the tools.

Since owning it i had to replace the wheel and it was my first monitor to smoke right in the middle of a party. Its never left the game room since i got it in the house, and i doubt it ever willl. If you have a system 1 machine you should have a roadblasters kits. If you have a roadblasters then you should get a second system 1 kit so you never have to swap it out. And I should have a road runner at this point but i dont.

Also the cockpit is really cool. The magnifier set up is a neat gimmick, and if i remember correctly it has a different board than what is in the upright.

If you were looking for a sign to get a roadblasters this is it. Just don't ask to buy mine.

FWIW just seeing this now

I always enjoyed all the projects we've done together and If there's any interest in these I'll consider doing a run. YES, YES, YES!
@ThisOldGame so what would that take? any estimate on cost?

could you include this too?
die-cut mounting support and mounting tape on the face of the topper.

anyone else irked with the inconsistency on the naming/spelling??
The game is clearly RoadBlasters no space, yet the topper inserts a space in the text at the bottom, not once but four different times! egads...

surely if Phoenix Arcade saw fit to lay a tie fighter on its side to fit within the border of their repro SW side-art, TOG could take some creative license and remove the space??
#removethespace #removethespace #removethespace :lmao:
