I am looking to buy my first pinball game and have an chance to pick this game up. To those who have one, is it any good? What would be a good price on it? Any info would help.

We had a couple on our route back in the day and they made decent money. However, we had trouble with the sealed membrane switch assembly glued to the lockdown receiver. The switches inside that flexible membrane were always going bad and we had to replace those several times at about $100 a pop.

I give the game an overall "average" rating as it really is not anything special.

The machine uses a special lockdown bar with button holes punched in it.

I would pass on it. I passed on a non working one for 700 that was in decent shape but needed electronic repair. I really don't like the theme, or even the way the layout looks. Of course, I haven't actually played it and I have seen various posts were owners of the game really love it. Mr. Pinball lists the game at 1100-1175 in the 2010 price list. Personally, I'd hate to pay over 800 for it. Best thing to do is go play it. If you like it, make an offer. If you don't, just say no.

+1

that's when you start hearing about this and that dont work = subtract money from asking price, by the hundreds

don't buy something just because you have an itch
last thing you want to scratch an itch with is a headache

I like Riverboat Gambler....not the best machine out there, but not the worst either. It's not a very deep game, and the wheel of chance slows down play. That aside, it's got a cool skill shot, and I like the layout.
