I wasf ixing up a buddys Ripleys adn got everything almost up to par. It does need one of the pop bumpers rebuilt adn the auto plunger is loose and not ejecting the ball hard but i digress. During gameplay both flippers all of a sudden act lie they are not getting power. I noticed that if a multi ball or a mode where it puts another ball in the trough while one is on the playfield seems to trigger this. I could be wrong becaus im not familer with RBION. If anyone has any suggestions i would appreciate it.I have already resetted the connectors and checked all fuses and am not really getting a error on the dianostic, so that eliminates that there is no tilt happening either because the game is still scoring points when you manually hit the targets .i also noticed that if it sits for about 1-2 min they come back. What the hell is going on .Thanks guys .Peace

Ensure EOS switch contacts are clean. You can use business card to put in between and squeeze the leafs together while you slide the card back and forth.

Ensure you have a little up and down "slop" on the flipper bats. If you don;t it'll cause drag. Also ensure your flipper bushing aren't mushroom causing drag.

Also, ensure you flipper coil sleeves are clean and NOT distortd from heat.

I will checl all the coils but i dont think thats it. The game plays great ,flippers have great strength and all the coils are good its that something is interuppting the flippers to work just as if the game has tilted?

So the flippers just become limp dicked right out of no where huh? And it's both that become affected?

I was waiting to hear whether you checked the EOS switches. I know you said the diags don't show any errors, but I'm specifically wondering whether the EOS switch activates when you manually activate the flipper (and deactivates consistently when you release the flipper).

When coils overheat, they can get weak.

For clarify, when they have this problem --- do they stop working all together or do they work but have very little power? If they work but have very little power, the EOS is still highly likely.

Also, is it always both flippers at exactly the same time? If you are certain about this, then I'd probably start thinking it's not the EOS switches as that would require too much stuff to happen coincidenatally. But if it happens to both flippers at different times, it could mean both EOS switches have problems.

Well for good meausure clean those EOS switches, however I'd locate which header on the board supplies power to those flippers and inspect for colder solder joints.

I realize that's a "typical" Bally/Williams answer but if they go dead after it warms up ... well I'm not quite sure what other direction to point you in.

Yea both go dead at same time , the weird thing is the game play is the same it doesn't recognize the balls draining? I'll check for cold solder joints and give feedback . If anyone has anymore suggestions let me know. Thanks guys
