Hello guys,
I have a Ridge Racer sitdown (with 6 manual gears) my question if you don't mind is...
"Can you put a Ridge Racer 2 pcb in this RR1 cab AND use the 6 manual gears?"
I'm sure one of you must know, as I do seem to read a lot about these system 22 cab's on here so I guess a few of you own them.
I have also got a Ace Driver pcb stack (working) which can also go in this cab, but I think this board will only accept a hi/low style shifter.
Also can Rave Racer use manual in my Ridgey cab?
Or as I suspect the only Namco System 22 game to use 6 manual gears is RR1?
Thoughts anyone?
From what I can tell from Ace Driver's setup menu I can't (unless you know of some hidden dip switch setting for this)
Any op's or ex-op's on here who may know?
My Ridge Racer 33" screen has burn-in from a Ridge Racer 2 boardset as I can just see it, so I know someone used to run RR2 in my RR1 cab, but how could you run it in an arcade if a punter could come in, add credits then choose manual gears then not be able to change gear properly?
I did install Ace Driver quickly, then, selected manual gears, then tried to use them, but all you could do in use gears 5 and 6 as hi/low, and because RR1's 6 gears don't spring back you had to keep smashing it into 5 or 6 as many times as you wanted to change up or down. (Which is no good!)
But when I looked at RR2's setup menu in the emulator Vivanonno same thing as Ace Driver only a hi/low input?
Unless there is a hidden way to do this??
Please help you clever people.
Many thanks in advance, and cheers for your time.
Paul
