RGP down?

I don't see anything after the 25th too...last post is about pins Hulk Hogan has.

I posted a reply to a guy 2 days ago, it didn't show up until over 24 hours later.

Keep in mind that via Google, you're reading what they index and relying on their server to make your posts. I don't have my news reader installed right now, or I'd go directly onto the newsgroup itself.

RGP on usenet is fine.

If you access it through a website on the internet like Google, you are at their mercy.

Try rgparchive.com, or subscribe to a newsreader like Giganews.

LTG :)

It's usually not down for multiple days like this though. Sort of funny how much stuff disappears from it. If the google groups rgp were to disappear forever I actually think it would cause pinball prices to come down some.

Yes it is still down and this is unusual. When this happens, Google is usually doing maintenance. Normally this happens on the weekends. I've never seen this carry over into weekdays though.

me too? maybe it's 'cause we are in AU?

I think RGPArchive might be getting hammered, or other things. I've seen it perform slowly or time out a few times the last few days.

To view RGP posts, you can also go here:

I actually like this one better than RGParchive in terms of format. However, I just tried to post and it said "your message will be posted pending moderator approval". It might be that you need to post a few "good" (non-spam, non-flame) posts before you are allowed to post freely, or it might be that all posts have to go through the mod. Not sure.

The whole requiring signup to even view at RGPArchive has me closing my browser on it.
If I have to go through that crap just to read, I might as well install my newsreader software again instead.

You can install it, but I doubt your ISP provides a NNTP server. Most don't any more. Perhaps there are some free/open NNTP servers... and there are pay services, of course...

There are many free ones. Just google "free usenet" and you can find sites which list them.
