Hello all,

Just picked up a RFM yesterday after a long road trip. Have yet to unload it so it may be obvious once I look in the game, but I have not yet.

I know there are multiple balls in this game, where do I load them all? They were unloaded when I picked it up so I didn't see where they came from.

I'm sure I'll have other questions later...

TIA
Tom
PS I just downloaded the manual and all it says 'be sure the required number of balls is installed'. That did not help. ;^)

You might want to inspect the balls for oxidation, dents and dings. If they have any of those things replace them. I wear gloves when handling them so that I don't get fingerprints on them.

When I picked up the Alien Poker yesterday I pulled the ball out because I was going to transport it. Gave it to the guy I bought it from as a trinket to remember it by. It was beat and had a white film on it.

Ewwww

Why dont people change their pinballs??

Same reason they don't change the CPU batteries, clean the playfields or replace lightbulbs....

Not that I know what those reasons are, but they are the same.

That made me chuckle.

This pin had not worked in 10 years. The ball was stuck in an eject hole where the top of it had the film and the bottom was silver, but scratchy.

I fall into the category of a person who owned two pins and never cared for them for almost 10 years. After finding this community I really started to care for my pins and now obsess over the little things. It is amazing that I still have so many little things I want to do to each of my pins to make them that much better.

Yesterday I picked up a pin from someone who did not care for their machine. I got it pimping in one day. A little care can go a long way.

This is such a fun hobby. We are preserving history and get to revive these machines while enjoying them so much. I often just fire up all my machines at night and just bask in the awesomeness of the blinking lights and attract sounds. It is like meditation in a way, then you play a game and get into the zone rocking the crap out of the game and it fills your soul with a warm glow.

Typing this on a laptop on my pinbot surrounded by flashing lights, the essence of mothers wax, with a draft blvd wheat beer. Smiling like crazy. Thanks KLOV :)

Thank you for the tips guys! I got the RFM together last night, tested it out (the diagnostics are awesome on that game) and gave it the smoke test. Plays beautiful! What an awesome game.

I'll post some pics of it tonight. I totally forgot a camera for the trip so no trip pictures, but I'll snap some pics of it today in place and post 'em up.
