I have the 2 gun unit of Revolution X. Recently, an issue with the video has cropped up.

The screen is extremely pixelated. What I mean is that you can play the game but it looks like an old Atari 2600 game. Characters and backgrounds are blocky. Everything on screen is blocky.

The Diagnostic Mode tells me some of the chips on the video card are not working. When the unit boots up, it goes through a diagnostic that shows all the chips and the functioning ones turn green while non-functioning are red. About 6 or 7 have turned red.

Other than appearance, the game plays just fine with full sound and play.

Can anything be done by me or do I have to try and find a replacement video board for it?

Rev x chips

Write down the chip numbers that are showing bad and unplug pull the board. Try reseating the chips first. also check your 5 and 12 volts to make sure they are in spec.

I had to reprogram a few roms when I got mine. 8 of them had bit rot. Two of those ended up needing to be replaced completely. After I reprogrammed them it worked fine.
