I'm looking at buying a Revenge from Mars and I'm curious if the backbox can be removed from the body or not. If so, could anyone who owns one get me the dimensions of both the backbox and the main cabinet? Just trying to figure out if it will fit in a large SUV I have access to or not.

Actually these Pinball 2000 (SWEP1 & RFM) machines are easy to move compared to the regular Bally/Williams pins. The main cabinet is smaller than the generation beforehand. All the connectors are easy to get to. Unplugging the playfield is very easy if you want to save some weight. The head is pretty heavy with the monitor.

After you get the game back together, check the prism card in the metal box to make sure it did not get loose.

I've never moved an SS of any size/shape. Only pin I've moved was a Williams Travel Time EM, which was surprisingly easy to transport. My main concern is the bulkiness of the backbox and the height of the cabinet itself.

I think they're harder to transport. You can remove the head, but it's heavy with a monitor in there and you have to unhook a bunch of stuff to do it. I have a RFM, and it takes much more time to prepare to move simply because with most machines you can just fold down the head, remove the legs, and move it with a dolly. There are more steps with the Pin2K games.

1) congrats, what a fun pin. I love mine.
2) easy to transport since the head disconnects very easily. No horrifying jungle of molex connections like a traditional pin. Additioanlly, pulling out the playfield is easy as well. 6 connections and its out. No fuss no muss.

The backbox is HEAVY so I'd suggest taking it off and moving the pin in 2 pieces.

No, you got that wrong, you got your numbers mixed-up.

Let me "unclutter" my previous post ...

Cabinet:
=======
Height 45" WITH LEGS ON (so about 25" without legs)
Length 48"
Width 22"
Weight 230 lbs

Backbox
=======
Height 28"
Length 23.5"
Width 24"
Weight 130lbs

So yes, it should fit easily in an SUV
if you have 22" + 24" in width to put the two pieces side-by-side.

Steph

BUY IT. dont think about it, dont dream about it, BUY IT.

I played joe magieras at a party a few years back and i cant get the damn game out of my mind. Its one of those machines i could play for years and still not get tired of.

Not hard to move (I did it myself). It's easier to remove the head if you take the legs off and lower the cabinet. If not you will need an extra set of hands to lift the head off the cab.
You will need a couple Allen wrenches to remove the 4 bolts under the glass.
Be careful with the glass. It's reflective on top and a little expensive if you break it. The other connectors unplug easily. Take a sharpie and mark the connectors when you remove them.

I fit it inside my Ford Focus wagon. Not the best way to get it home but it was getting completely shopped anyway.

Wow, fit in that wagon, but not my mother's SUV. Crazy.

The measurements I posted are of the SUV's cargo area. Not going to fit :(.

I'm sure it will fit...

If you fit it like the picture above you'll be fine.

The front end of the cab is on 16" high.
You've 43" of width and 71" in length.

If you push the cab as far in as you can
(on it's side, back-end in first) and angle it diagonally
so the back-end is more behind the passenger seat
and the front is more on the driver side,
you should have plenty of space for the back box
on the passenger side, near the back

Trust me, it worth making it fit !

;-)

Well it's a 5.5 hour drive, and I'd hate to show up and it not fit, I'm sure I'm being a little paranoid about it, lol.

You can definitely make it fit. I transported an RFM and an SWEI at the same time in my friend's minivan. :)

The head ALMOST fit in the passengers side seat.....

I have hauled a LOT of different things in that car all while averaging 28 MPG.

You both impress me, lol.

It will fit. What kind of SUV is it? I moved one fine in a Chevy Trailblazer (taken apart, of course).

Chris

A Suzuki XL-7. About all I could get on such short notice.
