I recently purchased a
Pacman retro-arcade 10-in-1 board set for use with my stock Pacman board which is part of my worklog - however, the kit did not come with any instructions. :(

I finally got my machine back from a work charity event; and attempted to install this retro pack. I did the obvious and no-so-obvious things. IE installed in in 6B. Put the connector in 5E. Removed all the ROMs at 6E-6H. I get a tone... and what sounds like menu movement when I move the joystick. I left in the ?Color Proms? at 4A and 7F... and it gave me some garabage on the screen but the pacman ghosts appeared and the game started with sounds. After removing the color proms; I get a white screen.

Obviously I'm missing something in the configuration of this board. A DIP switch setting?
The board is labeled
"retro-arcade (C) 2002
All Electronics
CPU Board"

Does someone by chance have an install manual or know how to install this puppy correctly?

Why not message the seller? He stated in the auction that it was working on his test rig for 8 hours.

Did that - no response yet; however, I'm hopeful.
I really wanted the manual so I can make sure it's done right.
Anyone?

If I had to take bets... big board ROW6, little board ROW5. ... other than that, it's probably magic.

I ran a quick search, didn't come up with anything, so hopefully the seller will respond back with the answer.

Thanks - that's basically the way I have it connected now.
I too did extensive searched on the interweb with no success.
If push comes to shove; maybe I'll use the details at
http://arcade.souzaonline.com/4n1hack.htm
to design my own circuit board. <sigh>

Yeah, the search didn't reveal much of anything other an 10,000 places to buy that Retro Arcade pac-man joystick doodlebop.

Wow - my luck here is awesome. Seller's response:
I took this off a working board and it worked before I removed it. Then before I listed it, I re-installed it on a pac board and took pictures of it for the listing. Unfortunately, it was so easy I didn't take notes and don't remember what I did. I think you did it right, have you looked for broken pins? Maybe something happened in the shipping? Sorry I can't be of much help, this is the only one of these I've ever had.

:(

The big board goes where the z80 goes and the little board goes in 5e. I have one, but the extra pac board I have is dead and can't test right now. Bought mine on ebay over a year ago. Pretty cool kit that does save high scores. Lacks Pac Plus because it uses standard Pac proms.

So you left PROMs in 4A,7F, and 6E-6H, and 5F?
My pacman board didn't survive the swap back; so I too am going to have to do some debug. ;(

Got it!
PacMan is alive again... $2 at Frys for a TIP31A / Q6 transistor. Ofcourse it took me 2days of bitchin' and moaning to find that transistor.. :)

Seems that during the debug of this RetroArcade; the 5V PSU went south. Some troubleshooting identified Q6 as the culprit.

To install the REtroArcade; I left all PROMs in the board; except: 5E which is replaced by the 5E board. And The main board replaced the Z80 CPU (6B).

Thanks for the support - appreciate it.
