So a few months back, I picked up a Frogger cocktail machine in a lot form an auction house in Georgia. It was running, but it was missing the glass, and the veneer had taken some water damage. Now, I have some Vinyl to replace the veneer with, but I need to know what kind of glass and what the glass measurements are to get a replacement. Also, it is missing the corner bracketts that hold the glass in place.

The monitor on this machine is absolutely flawless, and it plays very well. I still have to track down the top artwork, but I can't seem to find anyone that has the files or sells it. I have the same problem for the Sega CPOs on the cocktail, as mine are completely worn out.

Anyone know where I can look to start solving these issues?

user 6lucario (lives in Southern VA) was selling a couple beat but salvageable Frogger cocktail projects a few months back ... you might wanna PM him and see what he still has. you might be able to (at the least) grab the glass from him

I have a Frogger cocktail with the glass. I can get some measurements on the glass for you, just shoot me a PM.

Mine also has the artwork under the glass intact. I'm not sure if this is the artwork you're talking about.

As for the corner brackets, I don't know where you would find those. Maybe check Arcade Boneyard or the user mentioned in ElectricDreamz's post.

Both CPOs on mine are trashed, one even has a swear word carved into it. I've expressed interest in getting these reproduced, but I haven't gotten many others wanting these.

Thanks! PM sent!

And yes, that is the artwork that I am talking about. Mine was damaged by whatever ruined the veneer.

Well, we took the heat gun and scrapper to the old ruined veneer. Once we got that off of the cabinet, we put on a coat of Primer to the bare wood. After that, we let it dry and then applied the vinyl veneer to it. I tried to get as close as I could to the original wood veneer color, because I left one side of the original on it as it had the serial tag on it and it was in great shape.

We cut out the monitor in the vinyl and it looked awesome in person.

We then found the dip switch setting to let the board know it was in a cocktail machine(It is the third one BTW), and we put it in my buddy's man cave where everyone enjoyed playing it!

I still need to get the glass made for it and track down some mounts for it. I am going to try to recreate the artwork for the instructions as that isn't anywhere around. The Sega CPO just aren't recreated by anyone either. Probably due to them being painted on the metal.

Wow I thought my CPOs were bad...

Yeah, they are pretty bad. I thought about sanding them and just painting them again as no one makes a CPO for it.

I actually found the original glass mounts for this, so now I am looking to price out some glass for it. Is there a special type or thickness that I should inquire about?

Glad to see you're still working on this.

I have no idea about the glass, but did you end up painting the CPOs?

Does yours have microswitch joysticks? Mine does, and I'm wondering if that's original

I haven't touched the CPOs yet. I had some thoughts about them, but I haven't had a chance to look into it.

I don't think that my joysticks aren't micro-switches, but I will confirm that tonight.

I finally checked, and they are micro-switches. They don't feel like they are, but they are.

I thought I'd bump this old thread since I know @PassivePac-Man is active on these boards. So PP-M have you ever seen these CPO stickers or where to get them? I picked up a cocktail this week and I have the old scratched up ones like everyone else 🤣

Isn't the frogger overlay just a black field with a sega logo, some colored squares and a border? If so, send me the measurements of your panel, with the center hole measurement and i will see if I can make a file.

I do not. Should be super easy to make an overlay for it @redfivexw. I don't have the game anymore, but one side was ok, the other was fucked 10 ways to Sunday. For that reason, and the fact that every other one I saw was scratched up in the same way or worse, I never looked into replacing them before selling the game. It's a pretty good cocktail, though. Far better than the other Japanese cocktails

EDIT: I should clarify. The original "art" on the panels were screened directly onto the metal. I don't see a way to reproduce that since there aren't that many of them left(it would be a money-losing endeavor). An overlay would do just fine if yours are really bad.

Is the top of yours black or woodgrain?

Um, it has a black glass top but when I pulled the corners off to look under the glass it's got the wood grain. It has the instructions on top also. Only issue really is those beat to hell control panels.

Not sure if anyone clicked on the link I used to bump this old thread but that guy had vinyl overlays made. I will just include his pic here. Problem is he had them done 10 yrs ago and hasn't logged on in 3 years so he probably don't have anymore 🤣

Yeah, I was just wondering because I seen them with both black and no black on the glass. Either way, they had wood grain underneath. And I've seen multiple both ways, so I'm pretty sure both were original. Mine had the black as well.

I clicked on it. I found that thread when I looked for replacements as well. I gave up pretty fast, though.

I just took a better look at mine and realized the previous owner painted them 🤣🤣🤣
