Restoring a 1987 Capcom Street Fighter. a little Help?

Greetings Everyone!

I am currently restoring a Dedicated 1987 Capcom "Street Fighter" 1 cabinet.
Its 25 years old and it needs help. What I am LQQKING for is dedicated Side Art decal.
Reprint or original.

It does have the original side art on it, but it's pretty scuffed up. I'd like to try to find a replacement before I remove the original one.

Would anyone have any leads..?

I do currently have the Bezel, Control Overlay, complete controls with buttons, molding & the Top Marquee, but I am looking for the Side Art.

Any help would be great to restore an 80's classic (in my opinion).
Thank you for your time,
~Charles

First off which model cabinet? The very original Electron style cabinet that looks like a oversize moon shape? Or the Dynamo conversion? SF1 had many different design styles.
Post pics if possible.

Either way I believe that there's only NOS art and I've never seen any FS. I don't think the side art has been scanned for printing either.

Side Art

Hey thanks for replying guys.

What I have is the Standard upright cabinet. I wish I had the Big Moon version.
I have yet to find any art. What I may have to do is try my best to take a picture & digitally restore it & print it. we'll see...

Anyone have Street Fighter 1, and if so what upgrades have you done to yours...?

Again thank you for all the help.

~Charles

Something told me I should of snagged a few of the side art that was posted on ebay a year or so back. But Ryu looked so crappy. Not sure if it was NOS or not. I managed to get a marquee and a bezel from members on here. I also have 1 working and 1 non working SF1 board. If I ever do make a SF1 machine to complete my SF collection. I will make a custom version anyhow.

Keeps your eyes peeled on ebay for rare SF art to pop up, sometimes they do. Gamesongraphix.com has the CPO for sale, you can easily get the marquees too. Once in a blue moon a bezel may pop up, and if you are lucky you may see side art posted with in the next 10 years. Because I think PrairieDillo is right. Whoever bought the sideart that was posted either used them without scanning them, or they never sold and the seller just tossed em.

Challenger,
Man you've been great. Thanks for the help. So I do have about 90 percent complete.
All new CPO art, inside bezel (which I may have scan to help others), the top marquee, and all new happs replacment buttons.

I promise you i'll post pic's.

Looking into upgrading the wiring.

Its just the side art that'll make it 100% complete.

Still Seeking.

again, Thank you everyone for helping.

~Charles
Here's a Picture of my project. been sitting in the dust. There you will see the side art that I am seeking for.

You may happen to want it dressed as an OG SF but seriously just throw in a SF2HF board with the CPS1 kick harness. The original game is pretty unplayable and pointless. Compared to HF, it won't get played... it's that bad.

Yeah that is what I would do. Get like a 2 pcb switcher that could switch to another game.
Even if you are a dedicated fan of the series and truly want this to your collection regardless of the horrible controls and sound. With a flick of a button you can switch it back to the original game. Or mame the inside, and have the game always bootup on SF1.

NP btw, just keep us updated on the progress. And if you do happen to get side art, please for the sake of the hobby and fans! Get the side art scanned, even though it looks horrid. LOL

Hi,
I recently picked up a Street Fighter 1 and noticed that the kicks do not work. What type of kick harness would work with this 1987 board.

Appreciate any help,

David

I just got a Kick harness From "The Real Bob Roberts" its a simple Plug in play.

Go to his site. It should help with your issue.

Thank you

A great site ... that is huge.

Which one did you order? How do you order? I see something that may be what I am looking for called the Jamma Plus connector for $15. But not sure how to order.

Very interested in the one you ordered.

Thank you,

David

Bob is old school. You gotta mail in a money order or cashier check.
He's been burned too many times I guess.

Just send him an email & tell him what you need.

I've deal with him & the guy is solid! I bought all complete wire harness
From him many times. Never an issue.

Good stuff.

~Charles.

Attached, You'll see a complete cabinet wire kit for SF1. I completly rewire all MY cabinets with new bob roberts kits. (AC, DC, Jamma Kit, speakers. A.K.A. the Works)
All internals are Brand new.

Im trying to make them last another decade.

Wow ur talented

I did not realize the thumbnails. Is is complicated to rewire everything? How long and where you learn to become comfortable refurbishing your machines?

Well..... For SF1. A little. No one has yet to find the schematics for SF1.
So I am just matching wire for wire. I have a Dedicated SF cabinet.

As far as My Mortal Kombats 1&2, Karnov, Ghost n Goblins, & Black tiger the operations manual show the Schematics.

It's not that hard just a little intimidating.

You were Right..

I told Bob that you referred me and he was quick to reply and provide the right part. I would like to rewire my cabs eventually. But, I have fixed a few boards and done cap kits and soldering work on both board and monitor and with good results minus the minor shocks.

Trying to fix a Wrestlefest jamma that has some graphic issues.

Regards,

David

Got the part...

Hi Charles,

I noticed that the guide indicates to attach purple, grey, orange, and green to jamma harness and one side to the PCB. Was wondering how to attach it. They look like clips and I do not want to break them..

Appreciate any guidance,

David
