Greetings All,

I came across an original Tron cabinet that needs some TLC.

In short what is the going rate for a fully restored Tron machine?

I wouldn't sell it but would like to know what it would be worth before I take the plunge.

its worth it, but no, you wont make alot (if any) money when you go to sell it.

Theres only a handful of people who make GOOD tron artwork (i reccomend phoenix arcade) but thier skill does not come cheap, and rightfully so because thier work is fantastic.

You will easily rack up $500-600 in vinyl art, repro lower bezel art, repro handle, cpo, paintjob, etc

when the movie came out these were a hot commidity and going for $300-800 original and $800-1400 restored.

I just do not see that happening.

I sold my partially restored tron at a loss of several hundred dollars.

Its not always about the money though. If you truly love these machines losing money sucks but its not a total deal killer. I get more satiscaction out of fixing up machines than i do playing them, if that makes any sense.

I've seen perfect specimens go for $1500+, some for $2000+. I am in the middle of restoring one, and I wouldn't let it go for less than $2000. The machine will cost close to $1000 to restore (depending on cost of the machine in the first place) and will take countless man hours. Anyone looking for a high end, restored TRON and doesn't wanna do the work themselves only has to do the math. It all depends on the quality of the restoration and you finding the right buyer if you ever did choose to sell.

I did a ground up restore on mine last summer and like anything it's all about what you put into it but for a really well done quality restore I'd say easily 2k.
