restorations! great makers space / workshop in Baltimore
Hey everyone,
if any other restorers are in the Baltimore area I wanted to let you know of a place I just found "The Foundery" (I am in no way associated with it)
http://foundery.com/
basically it's a community focused and supported maker space, they have a MASSIVE space just south of Baltimore on rt 2.
They have tons of tools you can use:
massive CNC routers
huge water jet cutter
industrial CNC mill
laser cutters
laser engravers
sandblaster
HUGE HUGE HUGE powder coating oven.
welding equipment
3D printers
vinyl cutters
lathes
huge band saws, drill presses etc
a ton of metal and woodworking tools that I don't even know what they are
and I was there yesterday they just got in a plastic injection molding machine.
anyone can go there you just have to take a class on the tool/tools you want to use which is pretty cheap then you can pay a daily rate and use any of the tools you've taken classes on, no monthy fee or anything.
it's pretty awesome, I took intro to MIG welding for $75 and the intro to the power coating equipment for $25. and there's a ton of other tools I want to learn to use.
