[Restoration Showcase] The King of the Jungle: Aaayihiah-Yihi-Ahauauooooo

just finished my most extensive (and probably xpensive as well) restoration yet, a shinobi-converted jungle king cab which was found in an abandoned warehouse in hungary!

here's some pictures of the location first:

on the very right of the last picture, you can spot the taito cab which i converted back to its former glory over the last two years!

and in case you ever get bored of jungle king, why not try the board game jungle hunt - waiting for you right on top of the cabinet! 8)

what a restoration - but totally worth all the efforts!!! :)

That has to be the cleanest restore that I have ever seen. Did you actually replace all of the wiring and iso and power supply... to brand new?

Literally from the grave to the resurrection. Nice easter restore thread.

Nice work Ully. Did you just decide you liked the darker green better? Typically the front stencil is done in the base color on Taitos, so I'm just curious.

thx for the nice comments, guys! :)

well, not brand new, but i replaced everything with used parts which i cleaned up and resprayed. it l-o-o-k-s brand new, but it isn't!

well, my line of thinking was that the control panel overlay is dark green at the bottom, so i should do the front art in dark green as well. however, following that i should have done the small taito logo around the speaker area in light green (because the overlay is light green at the top), but i wasn't thinking that far when i did the paint job ;). nevertheless, i think it looks nice!

That is one fantastic restoration! Congratulations, you've got a real beauty there!

Where is the jaw-dropping emoticon when I need it???

I love how the bolt heads match the colors, never seen that done before.

Awesome job! This definately belongs amongst the top restores I've seen!

What's happening with the other cabs? Given what you've done with this one I'd love to see what happens with the others!

thx dude, appreciate the nice words!

as for the other cabs, the second one i took was the ikari warriors, but this one's much rougher than the jungle king, because it was at the very front of the "warehouse" where it was much more exposed to the elements. i'm not 100% sure if it is even salvagable, because when i moved it around the last time, a big chunk of wood simply broke off around the control panel area (this happened AFTER the following pics were taken). let's see ...
