Been a while since I did a restoration how to page.. back in the day my old control panel restoration was one of the more 'popular' pages.

This afternoon I was doing some kinda typical cabinet repair and decided what the heck, i'll document the process and share my methods with a new series of pages on the old blog and try to bring it back to life.

The first 'episode' is cabinet repair. Step by step how to replace that badly damaged wood on a plywood cabinet like williams with a very easy method. Hope it helps some folks!

The next one will be cabinet surfacing, touching on usage of fillers and high build primers.

Nice write up..thanks. I agree that bondo should be used sparingly. Stitching in new wood is often easier than building up lots of filler and a good glue joint should be stronger than the surrounding wood.

Sweet. I'm glad you are writing a few more of these. Always a good read and they seem to click with me when I read them.
