How do I find out about these. The place closed months ago locally and has a Williams pin (roller games I think) and 4 games, neo/PAC/daytonausa stand up. What's my best course of action to see if I can get them? When I was in there originally they had a card from an operator who has his card on every damn machine in the county. But like I said they been just sitting there for months.

Look the address up through the assesors website to see who owns the property and go from there.

I think it's fair game to break in and take them, just leave a note in case they show any interest later. :)

probably a slow operator that only collects from his games every month or so. I would bet the building owner locked the tenant out and the operator is probably trying to find the owner to get the games back.

If there is some tenant debt, I could see the owner trying to keep the games hostage or maybe even trying to sell them. So it might be a big mess. If you really want to buy them, find another one of those operators cards and call him. You don't want to be buying stolen goods.

This... and it happens more often than you think. The local Round Table Pizzas closed here (all of them) and the OP had to go to court to get his games back from all the different locations.

i have the number, how should I approach this? Im sure ill get no where seeing its a big time op around here and probably could give a shit about local sales unless the prices are dumb. Should I just call saying I was wondering about some games on location in a building that shut down? or what?

down here there is a centipede in a building that hasnt been even opened in over 10 years... u can see the cab (in still good shape) sitting by the window.
i met with the guy on the game and he wanted 2k....
holy crap!!!!!
i offered $400 not knowing working condition...he said the least is 1500 lol

Yeah, I noticed op's want big time money for their games. Its always in the thousands bracket. Fucking crazy. Even if their out of business, they want over a grand for some beat up shit that was on route since the fucking 80's. LOL.

BTW, nice avitar, Pinkpot.

Yes very likely the operator has been trying to get the games out. A friend of mine operated some games in a bowling alley that closed a couple of years ago. He was able to get most of the games out over two trips. He had to wait to get the third trip and by the time he got there, the guy with the key to the building was gone. So my friend still has a couple of machines in there and cannot locate anyone to let him in the building to get his other machines. The machines have his business cards under the glass so they are identified.

I had about 30 units in a roller rink that bk'ed a couple years ago. I talked to a bankruptcy attorney, and he told me that in this particular situation, where a state appointed trustee comes in to liquidate the bk'ed assets to pay creditors, nothing was allowed to be removed once legal proceedings started, despite the roller rink operating until the day the trustee arrived.

Well fuck that! My games were properly marked, and I had a bill of sale for each game, with serial numbers. I bolted over with a truck and pulled everything out that I could. I got everything out before the trustee showed except for 3 super shot basketballs, a chuckles the clown 2 player, and a couple big sit down vids. I had to show the trustee proof of ownership to get the rest out.

Also, there was a huge to do a couple years ago when Bennigans bk'ed. I don't know if any or all were ever recovered, but a couple of operators lost in excess of 80 touchtunes boxes and a bunch of mega touches. The touchtunes were probably located since they have to be online to operate.

And this happens because the establishment seeking bankruptcy protection are listing these items as assets because the idiots don't understand nor care to differentiate the relationship between establishment and operator. The only asset they can lay claim from is the income that is generated from the agreement. Since its income from a said machine, the bankruptcy attorney includes the item as an asset. SMh
