Anyone have any good ideas where to pick up a restaurant "booth" for cheap? I think a booth would make a great addition to the game room. Hell, I'd even consider a corner "round" booth setup though I think a standard sized booth would fit better.

Used furniture stores, Unclaimed Freight stores, abandoned restaurants. I wish I had the room for one.

they show up in the "business" tab of my local craigslist for sale section every 3 months or so. At the rate diners are going out of business, maybe a little more often than that.

I used to know of a place, and I considered getting one myself at some point. But they went out of business last year. :( I'll keep my eyes open, though.

I agree, I also see them all the time on Craigs list in the Business section.

Why would you waste space on a booth! You can get a couple games in that space. THINK MAN, THINK

I actually saw a restaurant booth at my local goodwill store. It was pretty neat, but I forgot how much they were asking for it.

I was thinking perhaps a booth in the middle of the room... maybe even just the booth seats with the Atari cocktail in the middle...

I got mine for free on CL:

You can see it in use here with my cocktail pin as the "table":

I'd like to redo it sometime and get rid of that ugly brown - you can get new red covering for it. I'm lazy thought and the booth is low on my todo list.

Check restaurants that are remodeling too. I got my two barstools for the arcade free when the local Outback remodeled. I had an ebay local search for them running fr a long time - found lots but none in my price range.

Whoa, cool thread.

I grew up in a house where my parents had a restaurant booth L-table. The fancy cushiony kind. We had it custom made, and it was ridiculously expensive. But all my friends thought it was the coolest thing. And it was.

Fast forward to about 1-2 years ago... I was sick of my dining room set, and nostalgia'd about the restaurant table we had growing up.

So I hopped on craigslist. Found a pizza parlor in Mesa that was changing owners, and the new guys didn't like the old booths. They were selling 7 of them for $350 total. I emailed the guy and asked if he'd be willing to sell me just one. He said sure, make him an offer. So I offered him $50. It's in my kitchen and I love it. ;)

I'll upload a picture later, don't have any handy at the moment. It's the formica'd curved wood kind, so that my cats couldn't destroy it...

I have two corner halves and they work great had the wife Re uppulster them in whilte and black and they now look amazing. They do work great for a barcade I found mine for .99 for two sections i bought four but only used the two. Going to sell the other two at a garage sale and see what I get for them.

Look around for resturant auctions they're all over on the web.

I'll post some pics of mine if I remember.

Save those 2 sections for me Ross. What size are they? Post a pic for sure. Might be time for a visit.

That's seriously cool. I'd love to see it. Right now a formica table from the 1950s (my grandma's) old kitchen table is my kitchen table, complete with faded yellow vinyl and chrome chairs. I wouldn't mind replacing it with a restaurant booth at some point.
