RESOLVED -thanks KLOV members.

I am not a poophead and am very open to some reasonable resolution. I didn't even dispute half the amount.

Fair enough, this is why I encouraged him to make every effort in good faith. And props to you for jumping into this thread.

To be honest, it sounds like there's lessons to be learned on both sides here (which is often the case when situations like this come up here, for which this is definitely not the first time.)

He made mistakes as a seller, and you made (understandable) mistakes as a new buyer in the hobby. Just like one rule as a seller is to know your customer, one rule as a buyer is to always know what you're buying, and even then, expect to need to fix things.

These are 40 year-old games, and they need special care and TLC, and there's always an unknown factor. It's mandatory to know the basics and understand how to diagnose a game when things don't work (starting with the simple things, as a lot of the time that's all it is), because it WILL happen. That means owning a DMM, knowing how to check voltages and continuity with it, and knowing how to clean and test connections. If you don't know how to do that, you're gonna have a bad time. But you can learn everything you need to know from this forum.

If you are open to a reasonable solution, that's great. Show everyone here that's the case by trying to negotiate something with the seller, knowing the situation he acknowledges he's in, where he claims he doesn't have the full amount to refund you.

Note also there are plenty of people here who can help you diagnose and fix any problems. And to be blunt with you, if your plan is to open a retro arcade someday (as you mentioned in your into post), you are going to NEED to learn this. You will not be able to pay someone else to do it. So why not take advantage of this golden opportunity to learn, when there are many people here who will help you.

You both fucked up a little bit. But you can both work this out to SOMETHING that is mutually agreeable, and both walk away accepting some of the blame, and lessons learned.

I dunno, @78whiteorbs, I would of been irate as fuck slashing that shrink wrap violently after bending over backwards to sell some games….
Man I was THE perfect gentleman in EVERY way here. Why this hurts man. I made sure to ask if there was anything or if I could further help in any way just let me know. That hurts

99% agreed with 1 caveate, my "mistake" was trusting another man at his word he talked like he knew what he was getting into. I use to sell vintage motorcycles and sometjmes this would come up from people saying they got it after explanation but then definately not. Next ti e I will get it in writing nd no paypal. AS IS. I've lost at least 1k$ already on this and was willing to eat it just to put it behind and never make that mistake again. Trusting people at there word is not a "mistake" if they are convincing ITS ACTUALLY being taken advange of.. If this would have been a cash transaction different situation all together.

I've said at least 3 times I am willing to take Galaxian back and refund that. I have that much. No response. I called paypal and they say there hasn't even been a dispute filed though..... I think if I offer and he refuses this might

I'm totally good with that and have said as much but he's taking more of a no refunds no exhanges no returns sucks to suck approach to the customer experience.
Bro, what you are doing here...not cool! You bought them you own them. You must understand this is a small community and you will need something in the future. These people will help you if they believe you can be trusted. Redeem yourself and do what is right. All will be forgiven. Please! Get the man his money.

Right. He bought them as-is (always the assumed case with vintage/used/electronics). To act as though there should be some return period like Walmart is asinine. To bigz- quit being an ahole before no one on this forum will deal with you.

Too late. No way in hell anyone is going to do business with this ass head after this.....
And I don't trust anyone who is scared of a pocket knife. He probably has his wife shave his beard.

So I'll say it again Zach if you want to return Galaxian I will refund you for that and give you a centipede board you give me the multi board back and we will call this resolved.

You say that you're willing to work out and that you wanted to involve a third party. Here is your opportunity right here. Now we can end it.

Come on man you said you were not a "poophead".

Your lack of knowledge? Explain how this is , how you are the victim here Zach

How is that . Many people even I n arcade museums in public use multis for Donkey Kong 1 2 3 etc instead have 3 cabs.

It's not my job to educate you on your every buying decision. When you expressed you were unhappy I offered to come install the original at my expense. and you said no that's fine just ship it I can do it it said that would address your concerns.
When you offered the multi kit he may have thought you meant something like a braze multi kit rather than a 60 in 1, you could have been more clear there. But this whole thing seems mostly buyers fault for sure.

Also, i saw the phrase "Half a Cab" in this thread a couple times, what is he referring to?

Yeah the pocket knife deal just really really bugs me. Seems like a cop out.

The monitor was not installed because he said he had a crt guy that could install it. I had already removed and was prepared to swap a 4900 into the wood frame but he did have time for that and said bring both monitors. I don't know how that is half a cab?

I said no problem it wasn't like the cab was gutted and jamma switch. There was an adapter and the 60-1 set to boot millipede and centipede. Original wiring and powerfully. I clearly said nonproblem I can send you a centipede board and that was that till changed his mind again.

Yeah I don't get that at all either. I'm not some meathead body builder intimidating kinda dude. I was raise right to respect people . I didn't even complain once about the numerous things like waiting 3 hours for his pick ups for FREE. I just thought in my mind..yeah I won't ever be in this situation again.

Oh you definitely went above and beyond the call of duty. Delivered, pick up the Frogger, unloading and testing the games. The fact that many people are selling stuff to pay bills and then get screwed...really pisses me off. Sorry this has happened.

If it was that big of the deal then he should have never invited a stranger to the house. If you have no means to pick up games you buy don't bitch about the manner in which others try to accommodate you.
