I have several Mouser parts lists for monitors I work on frequently. Most of the time it's not an issue because even if they run out of one particular cap I can sub in another without much issue.

My lists include the 47K 1/2W resistor @ R908. For whatever reason, Mouser ran out of the one I usually get. They're .09 each. I can get another brand for .32. If it was just the one resistor I might overlook the price, but I buy these in bulk so that can add up quickly.

Question is: I see I can get metal film resistors

For just a few cents more than the ones I normally purchase. Can I sub this for the carbon film resistor? I'm guessing yes, but wanted confirmation.

My understanding is yes, you can replace carbon film with metal film resistors. In fact it would be preferred in amplifier situations. Metal film produces much less "noise" and the tolerances are tighter. Again this is just my understanding. Anyone else with a more concrete answer?
