Ok, so I have almost fixed one of my Galaga PCBs and I am considering replacing the resistor packs with Raymond's renew kit. Well, I have tried to measure resistance to avoid replacing all the packs but only the ones that are off (too many legs to desolder/solder, even with a Hakko desolder gun)

I am stumped that almost all the 2.2K ones in the video PC board show values half that. Also, RM4 which is supposed to be a 2.2K reports values of 2.1, .345 or 1.1K on some of the legs. HOWEVER, it turns out that these are the same values of RM4 in my fully working Galaga board...

I havent measured the packs on the CPU board yet.

What's is up with that?

Thanks for any pointers guys...

Measuring soldered parts isn't a good idea. Always desolder them.

When measuring soldered parts, you always measure a part of the rest of the circuit too.

Yeah, that's what I figured as well, thanks. It is just a pain with those multi pin packs…

Only replace the cheap skinny ones that tend to break. Thats why they come in the kit not because they go out of specs

Thanks, the ones in question are encapsulated, so I will leave those alone for the time being.
