guy (2mi from my house) pulled it out of a business he bought and it was under his porch. I could not leave it there.. Hopefully I have already found a new home for it..

I got it working minus the audio. Going to mess with it more on thursday. It looks like it was hardly used..

Nice find!

One of the games I played the hell out of on ColecoVision without ever seeing the real thing until I was well into adulthood. Still think I've only seen them 2 or 3 times at shows.

jkoolpe is probably a good resource if you need help. I believe that was his Venture at CAX. He was troubleshooting it all weekend though. I don't know if it's a common problem for the game or just his board specifically.

Yep, that's my Venture at the show each year...the official World Record holder is required to have his own upright, yes? :) I do love the Exidy games!

Just had to fix a ground wire at the show...ended up soldering it to the board directly as a temporary fix...it worked otherwise throughout the show I believe. I rebuilt the edge connector to fix the ground wire problem permanently just the other night so it's all ready for next year :D .

Anyway, great find Bill! And I'm really glad to hear another Venture was rescued.

For the sound: Try adjusting the volume pots a bit...I find they are usually flaky and can cause the sound to go out, but then a quick back and forth rotating sometimes brings the sound right back. I would in fact just replace them altogether. Also try replacing the sound amp chip on the audio/color board...I think it's a LM377 or LM378. And put a small heat sink on it if you can as they do get hot.

It was only under the porch for a few days. He bought the business and needed to clear out its storage. Thank god he just did not take it to the dump...

He also pulled out some display cases and some old cash registers too. I think he pretty much wants to give away the display cases. Think 80's style generic 6 or 8 ft glass top and front.

I will mess with the audio in a bit. Hopefully it will be fully working soon. Jonathan gave me some ideas. I will try it out.

Exidy games are not easy finds. I have had 100's of games. I have had 2 ventures, 2 mouse traps, 1 pepper 2, 2 spectars, 1 targ, 3 or 4 exidy shooters(showdown, cheyenne, crossbow), 1 destruction derby, 1 circus, and 1 victory.

yeah, I cleaned it up a little and the monitor has zero burn.. One side of the side art sticker is a little torn. the other is nice. I saw 2 or 3 light cig burns spots on the plexi. Other than that its great.

I find it hard to believe the counter says 10,088 credits. Coin mechs are original and don't look like they have seen much use..

Played with the volume pots, reseated all the small board chips and changed the speaker and no difference. going to printout the pinouts and check voltages in a bit..

pretty sure Jon already told you the volume pots often go bad as do the amp chips. Personally I put my money on the amp chip if the game boots with no audio error message. I've heard about the bad pots but have yet to have one on any of the many exidy boards I've had.

I cleaned it up a bit and took some screen shots. I think it might be missining +12v. If the manual is right, it was 1.5v.. I replaced the photos on the 1st message..

It does have the 2nd ground wire on the sound board connector at pin 15.. it was just bent back in the pic. I think I hear audio hum. It does not display any sound errors in boot up.
