How many would be interested in repoduction Warrior cabs? There are a few cabinet makers on KLOV, Takeman is the man for reproduction Control Panels.

If this board comes out it could be possible.

Or there is also the ZVG option.

No, but I have a line on some parts. If I am able to get these art related parts I intend to send them to Rich for scanning before I do anything else with them. I should be able to get a decent control panel and bezel. I don't have good access to the sideart or a marquee.

I recall Quantum was discussed this way, but..

Rarity/grail aside, is Warrior really all that great? I've never played it, but I thought most of that stuff fell into rare/collectible rather than great gameplay. I was under the impression that Space Duel (which I think is a great game..) probably blows most of the obscure games away.

Don't get me wrong..that stuff is fascinating to see working and anything vector is neat-o

If we can get a control panel and joysticks to Takeman for reproduction that would be awesome!!!

Maybe Rich or Darin could reproduce the art and bezel, another option on the Bezel would be the guy that just did the vectrex warrior kits. He had 100 overlays made at a smaller scale?

If we can get cabinet dinensions there are 2 guys on here that could make the cabs.

Was just going to send you a PM:) Any possibilities with this, How hard would it be to make the bezel- monitor overlay? Im sure the other art can be made.

Wouldn't the only odd part of that be the glow in the dark/UV inks? I'd guess those aren't cheap.

And the unique joysticks. This one's going to be tricky to reproduce in anything like a cost-effective way I would think. Lot's of detail on this one.

Yes the Joysticks. If the tops could me made to look original, regular bases could be used.

I think its alot of fun to play!! But yea its more of a WOW factor game!!

True......

I think someone needs to make a warrior with AI. The game is pretty useless for one player unless you just want to look at it.

I had a set of those joysticks. You can not repro "just the tops" they are way too heavy on top. It would need to be a complete repro and it would not be cheap to do. I think a pair of those sticks weighed between 5-8lbs.

Thanks for the info, Were the originals made out of metal? If a reproduction could be done in heavy duty plastic, The weight could be cut down alot.

No, Warrior is not a game that mainstream guys will ever want. The fact that you need two players (no computer AI) kills it, just like Space War(s).

Is Space Dual considered rare? I know of quite a few in the local area, I'd say it is one of the more common vector games. Obviously Asteriods is more common, but as far as vectors go around here I would say Tempest is the most common followed by Star Wars and then Space Dual.

Sorry, my point was that Space Duel is one of the most common (numbers wise) color XY games, yet probably one of the better 'game design' games also.

The originals are all metal, heavy metal base assembly, then a cheap bicycle grip from the day. These are actually the same joysticks used on Starhawk but with black vs. white grips.

The biggest challenge would be to get someone to actually disassemble their carboard prop/artwork from the interior. I took out my fireplace backdrop and lent it to another collector for scanning and repro years ago but there is no way in hell I would touch the castle floor/pit assembly.

Warrior is a beautiful game with decent gameplay. The one complaint most people have is the joysticks. Using them is almost like swinging a real sword.

Last get together I had at my house Warrior saw most of its action from a huge Warrior fan. Other people just played other stuff. I love the game. It is a very nice addition in a larger collection. I don't think it would be a good mass produced repro game. I may be biased though.
