I am restoring the Star Wars Cockpit that I picked up. I was talking to a local guy today, he said he can reproduce the smoked Plexi's for the top of the machine. I was wondering if there is anyone here would be interested in a set. We would prob only do a small run, and prices have not been determined yet. We will need to look at material costs, and the number of sets he will require to take on the project, before I can set a price.

Might want to talk with Rich at This Old Game first. I was talking to him about the side art and that I was also looking at getting a pc. of plexi for the cockpit and he said that he was also working on that.

I have seen his cockpit marquee plexi its awesome, but have not heard anything about the top smoked plexi's. Just did a search here on Klov, and looked at his website, didnt see anything about top plexi's posted. If someone has seen a thread about these please post a link, I may have missed it. :) I sent Rich a Pm to see what his plans are :)

Kool... Did not know. I have spent a few months talking to people about this project. If yours are already made I dont see any reason to reinvent the wheel. If its a project that you looking at doing down the road, I will prob go ahead with the run. What time frame are we talking about? If I do a run it will prob be a small run. I know I need the plexi for one maybe both of my Star Wars cabinets..

Talked to Rich. Im going to step back and let him run these:) He is close on these and there is no reason to reinvent the wheel:D

Interested, but freight would equal the Greek debt I would imagine

Note: this is just to help out those not in the US:

Try to find a local Perspex dealer. I did and I handed in the originals from my cockpit and asked if they could copy them. Apart from the bronze color not being available (which I didn't want anyway, I've got color-less or black if you want now) they made two perfect sets, including correct holes and bends done on their professional machines.
Recently did 2 sets again for friends.

The black look is a much better match to the SW cockpit IMHO.

WOW those look great.......

I made 14 sets of repro cockpit plexi about 2 years ago and they had the bronze plexi, its just called something else now. They were a pain to make as it required a serious form to bend and clamp them to. No I don't have any more and I'm sure Rich's product will be awesome.

I agree, I also had mine reproduced locally in a black / dark grey tint and it looks much better. It cost me a small fortune to have it done but the end result was worth it.

Amazingly I paid LESS the 2nd time around and I think there was about 2 years between the "runs".

Last time I paid about €95 total incl. tax, labor etc per set.

Not cheap, but worth it.
