Just got done the first one have a few others to do but need some more cash to finish them all. Bran new CPO plus plastic strip that goes against the bezel. Bran new buttons and leaf switches. Wired up the harness from scratch the bulb sockets were reclaimed from a pinball part out. I don't have the lock latches for it and your going to have to put a strip of foam rubber on the back of the plastic strip up against the bezel. I'm including all the screws to mount the latches and the joystick all new.

Put a lot of time into these I have a few more available. I have another on standby I just have to put it all together. Have another 4 almost ready to go need to order CPO's, plastic strips, buttons and need to finish the harnesses.

The picture of the bare wood was before I went over them and finished them up. I did fill all the voids and imperfections with bondo and painted the tops for better CPO adhesion.

Yes but if you use birch then you wouldn't have to do any of that. :)

Wish these would have been available about a year ago when I was sourcing out all the parts for mine.

Any thought of doing Robotron Panels?

I might be able to next summer but I have to sell these off first. I would need one as a template to make new ones. Well at least a top since the rest should be the same as this one.

Sinestar cabinets and Bubbles cabinets are skinnier than a Robotron cabinet. so you would need to know the width..

Drill press, I bought an overlay before doing them and used the overlay to make sure that everything was perfectly aligned.

Also forgot to mention all wire is color coded like the original.

You won't be able to do most of the other Williams panels without a cnc. Robotron for instance has 3 or 4 different height and shape cutouts for the joystick and buttons and metal brackets. And some of the others have to have the entire top routed down for a metal plate. It will be incredible hard without a cnc

The Moon Patrol CP could be made without the metal plate. The thickness of the wood is the same with the metal plate installed. The metal does not add any thickness to the joystick or buttons.

The metal plate on the Moon Patrol is to cover over the joystick hole and allow the joystick and it's dust cover to move freely beneath it. If you don't have the metal panel then the sticky overlay will not allow the dust washer to move and the joystick will bind. And it covers all the recessed t-nuts.

Bubbles is for the same reason, to cover the recessed t-nuts.

Looks like on at least one of your pics the hinge is bolted to the cabinet incorrectly. It should be tucked up inside the Control panel. You may have corrected that on the other pics but I cant tell for sure?

Anyway these look great! Wish I had a Sinistar now! GLWTS

Not sure how putting it inside would work with the metal support brackets in there. I have 2 original CP's and the hinge was definitely on the outside you can see on both that there wouldn't be wood indentations of the original brackets and nuts if the metal hing went across there.

Both originals

The piano hinge absolutely goes on the outside of both the panel and the cabinet.

Seems I didn't explain this well enough. I figured that once you looked at the pics again you would catch the problem.

The hinge portion that is bolted to the cabinet should be facing the ground. Once you have the CP connected up and in place, the hinge is not visible on the cabinet. the way you have it pushes the CP too high.

I guess it all depends on the angle of the picture this one at Funspot you can see the hinge.

It also needs the piece of foam rubber in between the glass and plastic strip so that the CP doesn't shift slightly when locked down.
