My Star Wars w/Amplifone seems to have a repro HV board. This is the board the flyback connects to.

Now... I'm confused because I've searched this forum and the net and haven't found anything about this board. Can anyone share info about this repro?

Here is a pic

It says "High Voltage Replacement (C) 2003" (not visible in the pic).

I'm started all the reading on the Amplifone FAQ and other info, but I'm still new to this. So if I've got it all wrong, please let me know.

Thanks! Now I don't feel crazy that my HV board doesn't match what is typically explained in the docs.

This repro HV unit is/was also made as a K61XX series HV replacement. For the life of me I cannot remember the gentlemans name that made these. I had a conversation via emails a few years back.

Sorry I can't provide any further info on it.

I think the guy that made them was named Fred. He sold them through Arcadeshop. I have one here at the house. Mine died awhile back and I never got around to fixing it. I repaired my original HV board and stuck it back in.

Dave,
So if that repro HV board is feeling neglected, and would like some attention, I would be happy to help it out ;-) Actually I am trying to piece back together some amp parts to restore for my SW. If it would make you feel any better Im un-parting out my Star wars..

What is the huge black brick on the original HV board?

Is that a heat sink or something with a larger electrical purpose?

I want to keep it for now. I also had to take the harness back off of it and put it on the original HV board. I would be happy to sell you a rebuilt deflection or HV board for your Star Wars :)

Think the HV cage is needed for the repro?
