Does anyone know who ran these boards.. I know they were available a few years back.. I have 2 running in machines now.. I would like to contact the person who originally did these, to see if more can be made..

If he is not interested or can not be found, how many would be interested in one of these boards.. I found a company that can run these.. waiting on pricing.. It would prob he a bare kit board like the quantum and amp HV boards..

Fred K in Iowa was the developer of them, He sold the rights to it to Dave at Electronic amusements... I still have one two if anyone is looking for one.

I would buy one if they are not super expensive. the one in My tempest is a pain in the ass.

I think they were 150 ish... I'm sure I still have the invoice. I had a local sheet metal place knock out some aluminum housings for mine. I'll post a pic later, Now if I can only get around to finishing up the covers I'd be all set.

Do you have Daves contact info? I would be interested in buying the rights...

I have two of them and they both failed pretty quickly. I bought both new. I would be on the fence personally buying the same design again. Maybe it was just a bad batch of components or something. I am always game for buying improved vector tech though.

I think these designs had great intention, but I know I've read a lot of iffy feedback about those repros. Seems like there was something with the deflection board and the harness on it that was an issue.

Seems like a better solution is a near exact reproduction of the original PCB, which allows for all original parts, but also allows for certain upgrades and improvements, like the Amplifone stuff being developed. There's enough brain power here to create an improvement over this product.

These have been pretty much rock solid. If you crank up the adjustment pot way too much, you risk blowing either trannies. Just replace 'em if you have done that.

The deflection pcb had a jitter issue when another vendor went against the designer's advice on how to implement the wiring harness. When I bought the rights, I never had a jittery one.

I have been doing the amplifone ones just for my own machines and customer repairs. It uses a different, but similar layout.

I have inventory of about a dozen 6100 hvu built. Just need to crimp on 1 connector. They are $155ea shipped to lower 48.

thx

Please do NOT buy from ElectronicAM. Supporting him is like buying from RAM controls. See this thread:

and for the record, I have one of these HV units and it died too.

Funny how people keep coming forward saying that they had a good experience with me. your only ammunition is a handful of orders that were late in being fulfilled. At that time I was overwhelmed with orders and some were late. That sucks and everybody got their stuff. I haven't ever advertised here. I just answered somebody's question.

So, for the record, everybody that has been scammed by be, please state your case.

My thinking is that Arc sells competing services and would like to see me go away. What thinks KLOV?

thx

Yep you nailed me. I did some quick match and I must disclose that 98.5% of my orders have been shipped on time or faster and happy customer. 1.5% of orders have a chance of delay or refund if I make a mistake or life issue.

Wow, glad to get that cleared up! :)

Nice try Dave. You can try to take advantage of the fact that most of the people here came into the hobby long after you ripped off that first round of victims.

As for competition, don't try to turn this around. This is about YOU and all the people you ripped off in the past, not me. I don't sell HV cages and the people that want my services wouldn't settle for what you are selling anyway.

You are not my competition.

EDIT: Clicking on the link to the old newsgroup shows complaints over a 5 year span and that was just at a quick glance. From 1997 to 2002.

Wish I had know about ElectronicAm before I paid $310, but there is simply not time to read thru all of the threads.. ElectronicAm Pmed me the next day saying product would be shipped that day.. Well does not look like that happened, and now he wont answer PM's, or my Paypal Dispute.. I escalated my dispute to a claim today.. Not waiting around anymore.. Felling the Ram effect again!!!

Whats that old saying about tiger stripes??
