Long time since I posted here. Really long time.

My wife continues to nix the idea of getting an actual machine, but she seems to have at least stopped the condemnation over marquees. But I wanted to ask you good people for your recommendation.

Given the erratic nature of the sizing of translites, is there somewhere out there that does good quality, backlight friendly reproductions that don't cost an arm, leg and half an eyebrow, with a splein and six toes due on delivery? I know the repros aren't exactly cheap (wish they were), but it is my intent to get some of similar themes or perhaps of a game series and get them into a shadow box, which I have rope lights attached to the inside of that supply a decent backlight effect. Right now, I'm working with a 24" x 16" shadow box, but I'd like to see if I can find somewhere that can do em "exact"-ish.

Many thanks in advance, and good to see you all again.

You can make your own with a printer, sticker paper, and plexis glass. I started doing it for decoration, but it turing out better than I thought.

It sounds like you need to nix the wife.

Dump the wife.

I'd just buy used marquees here. many in the forsale section are less
then $30.

I heard this the other day and wanted to use it. It seems appropriate on this post.

Thanks for the serious recommendation. Will look into the paper.

As for the rest of you clowns, it's good to see you all again, too. But given that she has put her life on the line for this country, I feel she deserves some slack. Besides, The first one of these I want to do is for her to take to her office at work.

LOL, I was thinking the SAME thing! I was going to bring home an old Space Invaders cab and turn it into a MAME machine and my EX said no..... notice the EX part of it! My current wife told me no on putting a game in the house, a week later I had the Ultracade in the living room. I told her I'd clean up the garage if I could make it an arcade and she gave me the green light, now she's into it as well. Maybe try sneaking in a multi cocktail machine and once the wife sees an old classic she liked then you have her hooked! :D

I have some old odd marquees for some random games, did post a few here when people needed them, like DKJr, also got Omega Fighters? Nascar, Golden Tee, your welcome to any of those for free, cover the shipping, PM if any interest and can find a list of ones I have

If it has Tetris or a similar puzzle type game on it, she just might fall for that. I've been considering one of those 'bartop' size cabs, I could put that on one of the shelves in my "office" here. Problem is, full size cabs seem to be easier to come by. :p Especially when working on a micro-budget. 2nd biggest complaint with the DC area, the cost of iiving is crazy, especially when your employer doesn't do cost of living increases. Traffic, of course, is first.

I still think it'd be awesome to open an Arcade out here, just see what kind of business could be drummed up. If retail space wasn't so expensive...

Problem is most of them will have to be trimmed down ( some of them a lot, never appreciated how wide the Power Stone translite was until I measured it against this shadow box) so I wouldn't want to work with something that might be better suited for someone else. But if no one else will take them and you can find the list, I'll happily discuss shipping with you. If nothing else, maybe I can use them as test subjects.
