I bought some repro plastics for my star wars from marcos, I was amazed at how bad they look. They graphic on them looks pretty much great, but they handle being backlit differently, they completely diffuse the light and look cloudy.

The only prep I did to them was to peel the protective plastic layer off the front. On the back it seems like it is paper (as opposed to silk screen?) which I assume is the problem.

Did I do something wrong? Is Marcos the wrong place to order this kind of thing?

Ok, I take it back.

I got the paper off without much issue and reinstalled them, and when the machine is off they look perfect.

However, when they are backlit, he blacks in them do not block much light at all, and look very washed out compared to the original plastics.

Is there a better place to get repro plastics than marcos?

I'm not sure who actually created these? Sometimes one person/company does this stuff and sells it to whomever. I would check with this company.

Not sure what Star Wars pin you have, but email and explain what you've found with Marco's quality and ask if they carry the same product or made by someone else.

Either that or create a WTB ad on mrpinball.com or post a WTB thread on RGP.
