Given how this marquee in just "good" shape tends to get a bit on eBay these days, I've thought about having a repro done. Most are yellowed and yucky by now, yet the game is enjoying a rise in demand.

I just procured an NOS Super Mario marquee on eBay... ironically, no more than a mile away from me. I'm thinking about using it to do a small run.

The question is... is there any interest?

I don't own the game, but would buy one if it was reasonable. Say 20 bucks or less. I don't think a "flexi" marquee should be more that that. I love me some Super Mario.

Hello Tejhas, I am interested if it is reasonable, I just bought a faded one for $25. I think mine is acceptable, but a new repro would be mighty choice.

Well, it wouldn't be $20 or less. Hell, faded used ones go for more than that. I'd like to hit around $40... and considering I paid more than that for it, and I've seen NOS or "really good" shape ones hit $50+ a lot of times over the past year... I think that's more like it. Lots of colors in there.

A silkscreen repro of this would be cost prohibitive in relation to the marketplace, Inkjets are possible but mamemarquees already sells them... Plus it seems for the most part people only want to part with 20 bucks for one because it's flexi (as if those are somehow cheaper to print)

Im planning to eventually convert my Vs Baseball Dual System to Super Mario and Excitebike. I would need the Marquees to do the job.

Yup. Mamemarquees uses waterbased inkjets i believe. IF you're gonna go the digital route, at least make sure the printer uses a solvent ink printer! The costs to do screening will be a losing proposition most likely

*sigh* That's what I figured. I will never figure out why people bother buying inkjet stuff.

I plan on building a small army of VS SMBs, so a lot of any run I do would be for those, and sell the rest. Just tryin to see what "the rest" would be for an actual marquee, not a cheapo inkjet POS from another site.

i did buy one from Mamemarquees, and it looks good. I guess i would be potentially interested depending on how well your run looks. I know mine is 'inkjet', but they did a good job on it in my book, and i really can't tell the difference from the original. If your repro ends up looking leaps and bounds above the other, i'd consider buying one.
