This is my first time swapping monitors and I could use a little guidance. The cabinet is wired up for a wells 7k series monitor but I'm putting a G07 in it.

Do I need to order some molex connectors in order to make the wiring in the cabinet plug into the G07 chassis? Or is there a way to use what I've got from the harness where I took the G07 out of and transplant over to the cabinet that had the wg?

You can swap over the power connector.

If the board signal cable is one piece you can cut it at the 7th position in order to plug it into the G07.

For the first pic:

Remove the three position connector from the cab, replace with a two position connector that matches the tube. Install the two purple wires in the two prong connector. Connect the green wire to the monitor frame, ther is a small piece sticking up to the left of the chassis in the pic that would be a perfect spot, if it can reach. Otherwise just find a way to connect it somewhere else on the same piece of metal.

Was there not a connector for the wires in the second pic?

Thanks for the help. In the second pic, those are the video wires from the cabinet, and the G07 just has the pins on the chassis. It was hooked up to a jamma harness where the connector plugged directly into the pins on the chassis.

Do you know a good place to connectors? I'm scrolling through all my arcade parts sites and not seeing any

Bob Roberts carries all of the parts you need. In fact, you can send him those same pics and he can tell you exactly what parts and tools (if necessary) you need.

Alright, I got all the right connectors installed and everything, powered it up, and got this screen:

I'm guessing I did something wrong. I lined up the wires based on how they were lined up in the cabinet I took the G07 out of, but it wasn't a perfect match with the wires in the new cabinet. The old cabinet (using a jamma harness) had red/green/white/black for the 6 pin connector, and a grey wire with another looped grey wire in a 3 pin connector. The new cabinet has the red/green/white/black wires which I lined up in the 6 pin connector, but then it has a brown wire and a ground wire which I didn't really know what to do with, so I put them both in the 3 pin connector. I'm guessing this has to do with my problem, but I'm not sure where else things would go.

Nope!

Check out that last photo again. It's a PAPERBOY.

Your game is medium res, and G07 is standard res.

What happened to the original monitor?

Arch Rivals, turn in your Arcade Collector Card.:D

I played around with it, can't get it to sync. I switched the connectors to red green brown and black on the 6 and then just white on the 3.

I really dont understand why the molex connectors werent on the cabinet wiring in the first place #joysofbuyingfromklovers

Alright, got a picture with better sync but it's still all grainy and messed up color-wise. I'm going to re-do the wire order in the molexes again...if anyone has a clear answer to what order/where they should go, let me know:

red
green
brown
black
ground
white

So does that mean the black wire goes in the 3 pin connector? I thought the white one did?

Technically, there are two ground connections. Here's the pinout:

1 Red
2 Green
3 Blue
4 Ground
5 + VSYNC
6 + HSYNC

7 Ground
8 - VSYNC
9 - HSYNC

I'm not sure what kind of sync Arch Rivals uses (+ or -), or whether or not the sync for the game is composite.

just a small update...I've never been able to get Arch Rivals to sync. I even tried with a brand new monitor that I later put in my frogger...and it still wouldn't sync. No matter what order of wires/ground etc I did...no sync.

could it be a board problem? maybe this is why it was sold to me without a monitor in the first place? ("just plug and play...it works fine!")

Arch Rivals is notorious for sync issues. I think the problem is on the little board that the video header goes to IIRC.
