Hi,
I've got a couple dirty volume pots that need to be replaced on my Commando PCB.
I'm not entirely sure what the specs are on these pots, or where to buy them.

EDIT: The image I attached is coming up too small. Look at page 24 in the manual linked below.
Here's where I'm at: Looking at the schematics sheet (vr1, and vr2 are the pots), it looks like I need a 10k Ohm pot, and a 2k Ohm pot.
I'm not sure if they are linear, taper, ...

http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a-store/item/LPC-10K/10K-LINEAR-POT-W/CENTER-DETENT-PC-MT/1.html - Am I on the right track?

When I did a google search for part number rgp102, as it's listed on the schematics, I found something that physically looks very similar:
http://www.tedss.com/RGP102-1

Here's a link to the full manual, if that would help:
http://gamesdbase.com/Media/SYSTEM/Arcade//Manual/formated/Commando_-_1985_-_Capcom.pdf

I appreciate any input you guys can give me!

If you see the P/N for the 2 Ohm and 10 Ohm, they are both RGP102. One is set to 2 ohm and the other 10. I see that part number called out on a lady bug diagram for a 1 ohm. It's also in another universal game called cosmic alien's schematics as a 2K.

When you take it off your board, it will have three prongs on it. If you measure the resistance between the ones on the outside, they show what the whole ring rating is. The center tab is the wiper, and it's the one that's connected to a trace on a board. Measuring from one on the left end(as you face the knob) to the center tells you what it's set at now.

There are a lot different pots you could use. You might ask Bob Roberts, he has a lot of different variable resistors. He might have one that would work. You could get a 20K and it would work, as long as you have it set near the ohms on the one you have.

Thanks for the info! I somehow missed Bob Robert's pots page.

P/N P1092 & P1094, or P1057 & P1058 look to be the ones.
I think type C or E on Bob's page could be the right fit. I'll have to measure the dimensions tomorrow.

Now I have to prepare for my order... He has too much stuff that I want.

Thanks again!

I replaced the pots, and my volume issues have been fixed.
For future reference, Parts P1092 & P1094 (Type E) from Bob Roberts are the correct pots for this board.
Another thanks to fredster for the info!
