Those white plastic bushing where the flipper bat goes through, well when I was installing my flipper rebuild kit I figure I do those flipper bushings as well since I had the parts off and the 3 screws were now easy to get to, I had some new ones anyway just laying around for spares. Well what a project, as I removed the screws locknuts from the other side come falling out and what seemed to be a 3 screw fix turning out that I now had to take the Damn whole flipper assembly plate off to install the bushings. Thought I share this in case someone else is gonna replace there bushings to take the whole plate off to do so as I being new it wasn't hard but just wasn't expected that to occur. Are the newer machines and new flipper assembly plates like this as well? It just caught me off guard is all. I was gonna super glue the locknuts down in place, but figured that it probably would NOT be a good thing if a little glue got on the bushing or the screws. How often do you have to change them bushings? I have had my HS for almost a year, and the bushing did look fine and 1,057 plays since ownership Nov. 08'.I just figured I put new ones on since the flippers were getting new parts too.

All the modern Williams bushings have nuts on the back of the main metal plate. Williams put them there due to the tremendous amount of vibration taking place.

Yes you do have to remove the whole base plate so you can flip it over to take the nuts off first. Then the screws come right out.

BTW, Williams also applies locktight to the screw threads to help keep the nuts from working loose.
