So I have a blown bridge rectifier on my Monte Carlo. I needed a 35a 400v. Went to the parts shop today to find that they wanted nearly $16 for one. Thats obviously out of the question. But the clerk told me that I can get a higher amperage/voltage value rectifier and it would work just fine. I can get a lot of 4 50a 1000v rectifiers for $10 shipped elsewhere. So is it true that I can use a higher value rectifier to replace this blown one?
