Hello, with the help of some members on pinside, I have been able to trouble shoot why some of my lights on my BW playfield were staying illuminated even though they are not supposed to. There is a bad transistor on the cpu board. It says it is a TIP122 but I was told I could double up and use a TIP102. I have some other transistors in my electrical box that I inherited from my older brother when he passed away last year. They have the following writing on them. I am just wondering if I could use any of these in place of the TIP122 or TIP102. Also I have a transistor on the SSFB which controls the 8 volts for the flipper hold. It should be replaced as one of the legs broke short. It says s660 B3 on it.

I have several of the following transistors in my toolbox and was wondering if they would work or maybe they are the same as what I need to replace, just they are labeled differently?

One says 7805c than 94 in the bottom left corner and 2 to the 4th power on the right (or 24 not sure)

another chip I have says s106b1 at the top, and 96 b in the middle

Another one says vortex lm317t than 6446e below it.

None of the listed parts are transistors...

Fixed 5v voltage regulator.

SCR

Another one says vortex lm317t than 6446e below it.

Adjustable voltage regulator

What about the thing that says s660 B3 on it. It is mounted on one of my solid state flipper boards and gets mounted to a large heat sink. Is that a voltage regulator too or is that a transistor. Where can I get a replacement for that?

It's an SCR. You might have to do some digging, but check various electronic component vendors (Mouser, Digi-Key, etc). Some pinball specific places may have it as well. It crosses to an NTE5463, so a local supplier may carry it too.

If one of the legs is just broken, why not just solder it back together? Or is it broken off too close to the body?

It broke and I don't know what happened to the piece that broke off. I solder a small single wire onto the chip and soldered it back on the board. I mainly did this to test if it fixed my issue and it did I would just like to get a replacement in case that one fails for some reason.

Thanks, I will check out those places that you listed and see if they have them.
