Replacement speakers for Gyruss

I have been trading email with mike about gyruss speakers. He found a speaker on parts express site that looks interesting:

Has anyone tried these? I was going to order some speakers for my gyruss. They want like $12 to ship 2, but have free shipping for orders over $98. Anything I should grab off the site while I am at it?

I was going to try order a speaker for cinematronics games. I think star castle and armor attack uses a 10" round. Going to check star castle on Monday.

Also if anyone local or people going to cax wants some speakers let me know and I can order them.

I recently built a test rig and used a pair of my Logitech THX rated PC speakers on my spare Gyruss board and the sound was amazing, much better than whatever is in my cab now. Not directly related to this thread but when it comes time for me to replace mine I'll be looking for good quality speakers as a replacement.

Did you end up getting these? Anyone have the set from Arcade Shop?

I did not buy them as I needed to get it ready for cax and It was not enough time to have them shipped. I found something close, and worked fine. Took it cax and it literally sold in about 1 hour during Fridays setup.

Mine is still working without any problems... I will have to measure mine and see what Ohm rating I get...

Looking at the datasheet for the LA4460 sound amp, it states "Load Resistance 4 to 8 ohms"...

I can confirm that the Autozone speakers work fine. I spent an hour playing and using attract mode for an about hour with no issues. BTW, they now have new retail packaging. Same model number (AW-650SP) and speakers, new packaging look.

I know this is a long old thread but I had a dead right speaker in my Gyruss and I followed the Auto Zone advice and went in to my local store. They didn't have what @Hayate Musashi got with model AW-650SP from Raptor but what they DID have in 2025 was this Metra 5.25" dual cone speaker and it's worked flawlessly to restore true stereo sound to this awesome game. If anyone comes searching for help like I did, figured I'd also say what's worked for me in the 2020's. Greetings from the future!
