I just got sheets of replacement glass from a local glass shop and I am absolutely blown away by how big a difference it makes! I can see everything perfectly. It is amazing how clear it is!

If you don't mind, what type of glass, cut, etc? Costs?

I have a feeling I may want to go this route myself. Thanks for the info

I ordered 2 glasses recently from the local glass shop, both tempered with sanded edges, for my williams superwides, came to 50 apeice, which was cheaper than any pin shop had them listed for, before shipping, and noone had them in stock anyway.

Brand new playfield glass is a must for every pinball machine.

Makes a huge difference. I can't stand even some lint on my glass, let alone a lot of nasty scratches, filth, etc.

Most playfield glass for machines in the last 30 years is called Standard.

There is also wider glass used in B/W widebody ("Superpin"), and other manufacturers had their own wide glass.

Standard is pretty standard.

PINBALL GLASS
Standard - Glass playfield 21" x 43" x 3/16"
Widebody (Bally/Williams) - Glass playfield 23.75" x 43" x 3/16"

MUST be tempered glass.

Most Pinheads prefer the tempered logo left off.

Standard glass price at pinball shows is 25.00 a sheet.

Local glass shops may want to charge a ridiculous amount for only one sheet.

I just got a local glass shop to do 10 sheets for 250 bucks, and had some local pinheads go in on the order with me.

YMMV.

I get mine 2 at a time from Terry at pinballlife.com

I got two from pinballlife just this evening, and YES, it makes a huge difference!!! I thought they were reasonably enough priced at $70 for the pair. I couldn't wait for the next show to get replacement glass, it was really bothering me...
